Today was the opening game for my son’s little league team and man oh man how things have changed. Each year more rules come into play, the games get longer and the players get more responsibility. This was the first time they had the kids do all of the pitching, which made for a lot of players walking the bases, a few stray balls to some tender body parts (insert reminder to buy him a cup this weekend) and a really, really long game.
First swing results in a pop fly!

Those are GREAT pictures, Cat. I particularly enjoy the nose-picking. That’s an important part of baseball. As is boredom!
Ha! I love the nose picking photo. Too funny.
I had to lol at the nose-picking! Good luck to his team this year!
Love that you caught the outfielder with his fingers in his nose.
Cat,
I’m not sure which is more gross…nose picking or one of those mucous filled spits. Let the games begin.
What great pictures, love the contemplating on stealing a base!
How fun :)
Cat, I can’t believe you shared the nose picking. Poor kid but it make for a super funny post! And yes, isn’t the boredom an essential part of baseball?
Hey, this kid should just be thankful I didn’t share the butt picking one. He had a lot of free time out there in the field. lol
Ha, these are classic photos capturing what’s timeless about Little League and spring sports leagues in general, I love this time of year as the kids break free from cabin fever and start participating in sports and outdoor play again. Thanks for sharing!
I hear ya. I just love getting out of work for the day to spend THREE hours at Baseball. If it was an hour it would nothing but they are up to THREE now! Great shots!
Looks like an exciting game! (At least their was nose picking to watch during the boring parts, lol!)
We had our first soccer game a few weekends ago, and my son spent half the time trying to chat with the other team or doing karate moves in the middle of the field. Ugh.
It’s crazy how different the games are and how many rules they have.
And, of course, you can’t play ball without picking your nose.
great shots..I miss these days my boys are older now…
He looks like he could be a pro :)
Haha Great pictures! I love the picking the nose one!
hahaha nice shot of him in the outfield ;)
great pictures I remember our oldest son used to play with rocks in the outfield a lot
Bwahahaha nose picking is totally something my boys would do ;) cute pics! Happy WW!
Those are great pictures! Handsome boy too.
He has the best expression when he’s thinking about stealing bases. lol And I love the random boredom shot! lol
You really take great photos!
Great shots!
LOL. Love the nose picking. Hope a fly ball didn’t come his way.
Oh boy, how I remember those days. B-O-R-I-N-G, you ain’t just a kidding! Especially they never let my son up to swing a bat because he ran like a girl or like he had a pile of _____ in his pants. He was there one season, and then we didn’t like it anymore. hehehe Looks like yours is having a ball though! That’s great! So, who’s he going to play for the SOX or the CUBS???
LOL He’s actually a Cardinal’s fan (don’t ask me why) but I don’t forsee a professional baseball future for him. He just plays for fun.
i remember these days with my little brother… looking forward to them with broxton
I was going to say that the 2nd picture was priceless until I saw him diggin’ for gold!!! LOL!
hahaha omg i remember softball season in my case. crazy long games and if you were in the outfield you usually were bored to tears because only 1 or 2 kids could hit that far!
I remember when my oldest son played sure wish my other son was interested in baseball but he likes track and chess go figure LOL
I think you captured all the highlights of a typical kids base/softball game.
great pictures Cat Luv little league baseball so fun.llOL On the pic in the outfit that is way too funny you caught that
