We’ve had this plan in our heads for a few years but never actually got around to getting it done. Well, this year we put the put the plan into action and hired a local company called Border Creations to come out and give our front yard landscaping a little makeover. What they do is add concrete curbing that looks like stones. It comes straight out of this machine and looks more like sausage until they shape it, stamp it and seal it.
This is a before and after of the tree ring that we had added around the Magnolia tree.
We also had a section around our mailbox, front porch and the driveway corner done. Watching these guys breeze through this job was far easier than the work that lied ahead. In fact, here we are several days later and still working to get this area put back together.
So for we’ve manage to transplant my lilies, one of the mums and lay down the weed control fabric. Later this week we’ve got 2 tons of rock coming to fill in the areas and a lot more planting to get done. Well, if it doesn’t decide to rain anyways.
Some of the plants we brought home from Lowe’s included this gorgeous Broadway Rose bush, some green plants (no idea what they’re called), a hot pink Azalea bush and a few others.
This time next week I’m hoping we’ll have it all done and I can share some before and after pictures.
And when we weren’t digging, planting or hiding from the heat … we were watching the kids roll around in the grass.
