Monday again. Sigh.
After a broken up weekend Monday seems to have come much too quickly.
Not too long ago someone quit at my husband’s department so it left a few shifts open that needed to be covered. Of course my dear husband stepped up to fill the slots which cut into our weekend. To make things a little easier he took Friday off and that became our Saturday while he worked the actual Saturday and we spent Sunday recovering.
We had one really nice day of weather in the 50′s that really felt like Spring was here. I took the opportunity to go on a long walk with my family and even found some time to clean up our mums in front of the porch. Every winter they turn into giant skeletons and I have to go through and break off the dead branches. I was really surprised to see the new mums are already growing. They’ll look a bit ugly for a couple months but by Summer they are gorgeous green bushes that turn into a spectacular display of color in early Fall.
I also got an unexpected delivery last week. Back in February I had ordered a custom John Boos prep table for my kitchen. It wasn’t suppose to arrive until April 1st but somehow managed to get here very early. I spent a lot of time getting it set up. I was shocked at how heavy and sturdy this table is which of course make it difficult to construct all by myself.
With some free time on my hands between doing blog videos and cleaning I managed to pull all of my odd dishes out of a cabinet that really was horrible mess. I’m surprised half the dishes weren’t broken.
Anyways, I got them all set up on the prep table shelf so I can grab them when I need them. It’s a small collection for now but I think I’m gonna hit up some garage sales this summer and see what unique dishes I can find.
