This was one of those weekends that seemed to end before it began. I had a lot of alone time with the kids, going about our usual business and a few sleepless nights. That’s partially my fault though. Last week a box full of International Delight Coffee Creamer samples showed up and by the time I remembered how much I wanted to try one it was well after 9pm. That much caffeine so late had me up till 7am Saturday morning. So I’m sure you can imagine how cranky my Saturday was since I only got to sleep until 10am (simple math, 3 little hours of sleep).
Then I remembered Valentine’s Day is coming up and got all of my daughter’s Kindergarten treat bags thrown together. For some reason, I remember this being a lot more fun when I was a kid. Perhaps I’m just complicating things by making treat bags at all (in addition to the cards). But I also felt a little obligated. The fun of making homemade treats for classes was taken away long before my kids even started school so this is my way of contributing.
And then I have a shameful confession to make. I skirted my SAHM duties, only managing one load of dishes. All because I got hooked on the Downton Abbey series. I was out of free movies to watch and noticed onDemand had this series featured so I thought I’d give it a shot. With the foreign accents and odd English I found myself only understanding half of what was going on but still found myself completely drawn to the characters and story. I can’t relate to the lifestyles of any of these people but I think that’s what makes it interesting. Well, in comparison to my life, anything is interesting. That and there’s more drama in one episode than any one person should ever experience in a lifetime.
