I’m really struggling with the fact that today is Monday. After what felt like the shortest weekend ever here I am alone in the house with Emma and the cats back into the same old boring routine. And somehow, my house is cluttered again.
I spent most of Friday and Saturday getting the house spotless. We just didn’t really have anything to do so I went into cleaning mode. Then Saturday night after my parents stood us up for an evening visiting with the kids we all decided to just hop in the car and go bowling. It felt so weird to be out till 11pm at night, especially for the kids being way past their bedtime but it was a night of fun and laughs. After 9pm the bowling alley turns down the lights, turns up the music and the whole place goes into party mode. Emma just killed me, once she threw the ball over her head, twice the ball got stuck in the middle of the lane and I had to knock it through with my bowling ball and once she was so busy dancing she got disoriented and bowled her ball down our neighbors lane. (thank goodness they were understanding about that)
I also got back into the kitchen and tried my hand at some homemade pretzels. Apparently the first batch was so good the kids swiped them all before I could even get an “after” picture. I ended up having to make a second batch which turned out even better because I turned them into bacon cheddar pretzels.
Then of course there was Superbowl Sunday. This year I actually made it through the whole game but had more fun chatting online about the commercials. And Emma let us all know what she thought of the half-time show …
