Holy cow! What an exciting weekend that was!
Wait … no … who am I kidding? My life is boring. And I like it that way. LOL
But we did venture outside of the usual weekend stuff when my husband not only got me into a restaurant (I hate dining in places) but he also got me there on a Friday night (another big no-no for dining out). I reluctantly agreed to go with him and the girls (while Matt had a sleep over with his grandma) to Longhorn Steakhouse.
Guys … that was seriously some of the best food I’ve had dining out. I ordered the Parmesan Crusted Chicken with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. Every single bite was a happy dance for my taste buds. But it wasn’t a perfect experience. When our really sweet server brought the plate out I literally gasped. There were two very large chicken breasts on my plate (which explains the price tag). That’s seriously way too much food to be serving one person. I get that restaurants need to make a buck but come on, offer lighter portions or something. I don’t like reheating restaurant food so a lot of food went to waste when I could only eat 3/4 of one chicken breast.
Against my better judgement I ordered dessert. I had no idea the Bananas Foster Cheesecake was going to be the size of my head. Okay, maybe that’s exaggerating a little but it was seriously huge. Three people could have shared this dessert.
Before going out to dinner I snapped a picture of my hair before it ended up crinkled in a sloppy ponytail, which is where it spends 99% of its time. I’m thinking about chopping it off.
After dinner we got the girls snuggled into bed and started tackling this monstrous chore of assembling a NordicTrack Elliptical. I’ve put on way too much weight since losing my dad and I can’t keep doing this. Time to get back on the horse so to speak and get my body and health back in order.
The rest of the weekend was just the usual … relaxing … cleaning … a few hits at the batting cages … playing with the cats … and getting the yard all prettied up for Fall.
