I’ve spent a lot of time digging through the garden removing an insane amount of weeds and tying up tomato plants that are toppling over from the weight of all the maters. If they ever turn from green to red, I’m going to have a really, really good harvest this year. Even though I’m shocked the plants have been doing so well, I got an even bigger shock when I started redirecting the cucumber vines that are trying to take over my garden. This pair of Straight 8 cucumbers appeared out of nowhere. I say that because I had spent the previous week looking for any sign that a cucumber was growing but found absolutely nothing. Then I stumbled onto these fellas that were right under my nose the entire time.
Knowing my husband was going to be working a ton of extra jobs during the weekend, I bought myself a little present. My girls have already managed to break not one but two iPads so I opted for the iPad mini. And I’ve made it clear that this little gadget is ALL MINE. I’ve focused so much energy on housekeeping and child raising that I just never take the time for the little things like reading a good book. So now I’m reading my nights away with the James Patterson Michael Bennett series.
I also to got to work on some recipes for the upcoming week. My favorite …. ice cream. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you seriously need one. This is one of the few gadgets in my kitchen that use over and over again. Ice cream is ridiculously easy to make and fun to experiment with. Click play to see my secret ingredient. I’ll post the full recipe on Thursday.
But my favorite thing this weekend … the downtime after the kids are in bed, hubby is at work and it’s just me and the cats. When the house is this quiet they all come out for bedtime snuggles.
