When I first set up the HP Envy 23 TouchSmart AiO PC I knew it would be a fun computer. I even knew my kids would enjoy the new piece of technology in our home. What I didn’t know is how quickly it would become an actual part of our family.

Living in a crowded house of five (plus two cats) we don’t have a lot of extra space for things. That’s one of the reasons we’ve never had a family computer. The HP Envy changed all that. The all-in-one design makes it easy to find a home for it in any room of the house because despite having a huge 23 inch touchscreen, it’s compact in size. There’s no tower to take up space. We were able to find a small corner desk for our living room that gives the entire family access to the computer and doesn’t make our room feel extra cramped.

For several weeks now we’ve found so many creative and practical uses for the HP Envy 23 TouchSmart AiO:

  • Dad – My husband uses it to keep up with his favorite football team including using the Dallas Cowboys app on the Windows 8 live tile screen.
  • Mom – I love it most for the recipe apps and following along in the kitchen. But occasionally I’ll turn on the iHeart Radio app to dance away the time while I’m cleaning.
  • Son – Matt is a Minecraft addict and spends his time building with that game. He also will have access to it for school projects and research.
  • Daughters – Both girls love the Fresh Paint app and the Magic Desktop so they can surf a kid-friendly internet zone.

Want to see the HP Envy 23 TouchSmart AiO in action? You can check out my first video review or watch in below as I share even more features.

* I wrote this review while participating in a program on behalf of HP and received an ENVY 23 TouchSmart AiO and other products as a thank you for my participation. In addition, Netflix provided me with a special account to use during this program.

  1. The more I read about how you love it, the more I want one!

That is so awesome. I love that there isn’t a CPU because those things can get in your way FAST. I’ve been hearing a lot of great things about Windows 8 and all these apps on your screen. It’s so neat to see you can go to your apps just like a tablet. I love HP computers too. We have an older version of a HP laptop!

  3. I LOVE the all-in-one design! Saving space is definitely an important feature. I also love all the apps that come with Windows 8. There are a lot of cool “toys” for everyone in the whole family to play with!

  4. Wow it’s got a wide screen!

  5. How fun! We have been toying with the idea of a touchsmart for my kids and I secretly want one for myself :)

  7. I bet the iHeartRadio app is great while you are cleaning!! That’d be something I’d use it for!

  8. Evelyn Goettner says:

    I so want one!

  9. We will need to find a family computer space in the coming years. I love how you mentioned that it took up less space. That will be key when we get to the family computer point for our kids!

OH my gosh this is such a space saver! We have had a family pc in our basement for over 11 year, and it has to sit on a huge desk because of all the components and monitor, etc. It actually is not working right now and I was hoping to get a smaller computer or get a laptop for the family in order to get rid of that eyesore particle board desk. Well, this would allow to get a really small, simple desk that can give us some of our basement family room space back. In our small house this would be the answer to our space issues and give the family a great computer to share. Not sure about the cost vs a laptop though. Have to look into that…

  11. That computer is still pretty darn awesome to me!
Especially now that I realize just how functional and compact it is, something my family could definitely benefit from :)

  12. It looks really great! i have enjoyed all your posts on it!!
