As a parent, how often does your day start out with a nutritious breakfast? What about your kids?
I’m certainly no Supermom, I know how hard it can be to get kids up for school, out the door and then try to get myself something to eat. Sometimes the freshly brewed coffee is just easier, but it’s not the smart choice. I try to make up for my weekday breakfast shortcomings with a homemade and healthy breakfast on the weekends.
However, when it comes to putting a healthy meal on the table before the kids are out the door I often turn to cereal. We keep a variety of cereals stocked in our pantry like Kellogg’s Corn Flakes for my daughter Emma, who loves those with fresh sliced strawberries. My son Matt likes a big bowl of the snap, crackle, pop … Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats. And then there’s my daughter Kaydence who likes to pick the raisins out of Kellogg’s Raisin Bran and put a few in her pocket to eat on the way to school.
The idea for me as a mom is to give my kids something they can eat quickly and make me feel a little less guilty about not cooking. We choose these particular Kellogg’s cereals because they offer our children simple, nutritious grains often topped off with some fresh fruit and of course the milk.

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kellogg’s. I received sample products to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.
