I have to admit, when we planned our first trip to Disney World there were only two things on my mind. First, we had to find and meet Mickey Mouse. Second, my sweet tooth was craving all the confections found around the Disney parks. I had seen various pictures online of Mickey shaped treats that I just couldn’t wait to try. I may have even gone a little overboard in my search for sweets.
My first stop was the Main Street Confectionery where I found wall-to-wall Disney themed sweets that had me feeling like a kid in a candy store.
While there I found a walls stacked with Mickey themed packaged candies. These are ideal for taking home to share with loved ones.
But my heart led me to the glass counter where I was overwhelmed with cookies, cakes and candies.
We even found some fancier options like these mint chocolate brownie Mickey treats.
My absolute favorite part was getting to watch the Mickey Mouse dipped apples being made. If there was ever a dream job for someone like me, that would be it.
And a little tip, should you decide to buy a Mickey or Minnie apple to bring back to your resort, when the cast member asks if you want it cut, SAY YES! I thought I would take care of that myself and realized we had nothing to cut it with in our resort room.
My only regret is that I didn’t buy more of these Mickey Mouse cheese crackers. They look a lot like Goldfish snack crackers but taste 1000 times better. I had bought a little pack of them to snack on during our long drive back to Illinois and they were gone before we even got out of Florida.
Next time (if) we get the opportunity to go back to Disney World, I can’t say I won’t go overboard on sweets again. There are just so many to choose from and these are just he ones I found in Magic Kingdom.
