Rough Start to Week 40

My due date is actually 2 days away, but being Sunday I look at it like the start of week 40 of my pregnancy. Unfortunately, things are slowly getting worse. Again, lots of contractions in the evening but they seem to simmer away as I relax. That I can live with, my body is just practicing. What I can’t take right now is the fact that I may be sick. :-(

Just the other day I was thinking to myself, “wow, it’s been a bad year for people getting colds and the flu, yet somehow I managed to make it an entire winter illness free, all while pregnant.” The shocker is I’m the one that usually has a few colds, and at least one case of strep throat every year. Well, I must have jinxed myself because yesterday I noticed my throat feeling tender. Today it’s worse and I woke up to liquid projectiles coming from all parts of my body and feel like a I got ran over by a truck…twice. All I wanna do is lie down and force down some vitamin C and chicken soup but there’s still so much to be done around the house.

It’s sad to say, but now I’m actually hoping Emmaleigh waits a few extra days so I can feel better.

  1. Cat, I hope that you can avoid getting sick! Are you allowed to take Cold-Eeze? Those always work for me…

Get better soon and I can’t wait to see pictures of your new princess!

  2. OH NO! Go get some sleep! I woke up this morning with a headache and sore throat…took a bit of a nap and I feel a little better.

I think you need to take it easy! Eat some oranges and rest! :) I hope baby waits for you to feel all better too…it wouldn’t be as much fun if you’re feeling like poo!

    I’ll be thinking about you!

  3. Cat, I hope you feel better!
