Wii Accessories and PDP Review

The kids are back in school and filling their minds with all that not-so fun algebra and history, but what about weekends? Everyone needs a break and the Wii does just that while encouraging physical activity at the same time. To make games more fun, PDP offers a huge selection of Wii Accessories!

pdp6Who is PDP?

Performance Designed Products, LLC (“PDP”) is an industry leader in designing and manufacturing peripherals for all major video game platforms, including PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, GameCube, DS Lite, XBOX 360, and XBOX. PDP products can be found in almost every major retailer in the USA and Canada, including Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Gamestop/EB Games, Target, Circuit City, Costco, and Toys ‘R’ Us.

Our Experience

My one big complaint with owning the Wii System is how quickly my husband and 8 year old son can drain the remote batteries. We can go through an entire 8 pack a month with the amount of game time they get together on the weekends. To solve this problem, PDP sent us a Wii 2X Induction Charge Station made by Energizer. I don’t know how in the world we ever lived without this before. Not only is the charging station saving us money on replacement batteries, but it’s a handy little holding area for the remotes.

You replace the entire battery compartment with the rechargable battery and pop them right in the holding area to charge. When the light changes from orange to green, they are pdp2ready for game play. The only issue we ran into was minor. You need to remove the Wii Motion attachment before charging.

The charging station is budget priced at just $19.99. I’d say it’s worth the small investment to avoid buying batteries constantly!

Without a doubt, the best Wii accessory for Sports games is the Nerf Sports pack! Each pack comes with a baseball bat, golf club and tennis racket. They really make you feel like you’re apart of the game. My husband and son have been having a blast with the Wii Sports game and Nerf Sports pack accessories. You just pop the remote into place and get right into the game and swing the bat as you would a real baseball bat. While each accessory isn’t life size, it makes them perfect to trade between the youngest of players and adults.

pdp7Each Nerf Sports pack comes with three accessories:

  • pdp3baseball bat
  • golf club
  • tennis racket

The packs are available in 4 colors including: blue, green, black and red. This makes them perfect for buying a set for each member of the family to use.

More Fun Accessories

pdp4Mario Kart is a blast, but it’s just not the same without a real wheel behind the motions. Nerf has created a fun Wii Wheel that brings the driver’s seat right to you. Just pop in your Wii remote and turn the wheel just like you’re in the car! Available in blue, green, black and red you can pick up a Nerf Wii Wheel for $9.99 each at PDP.

pdp5Transformers are all the rage with little boys. You can transform their game play with a stylish Transformers Kit for DS Lite. Available in the Bumblebee and Megatron characters each Transformers Kit comes with the handheld game cover and stylus cover. Each Transformers Kit is $19.99 each at PDP.

Oh goodness, yes you definitely need to get a Wii! In November they are bringing back the old horizontal style games, like the original Mario 1, 2 and 3 for Wii. I can’t wait!

  3. karenM says:

Our grandson saved and bought a WII last year, and they all have fun with the different games, there are games for adults and even little tots. The Wii is a really nice family gift. I will have to check in the recharger, didn’t know it was available. I would like to add the Wii fit to they system for myself. :)

  4. Kim says:

We just got a Wii for Caleb’s birthday, it is sooo fun! It came in handy today, it’s been so humid we didn’t even feel like heading outside, or maybe the kids just wanted to stay in so they could play?

  5. Melissa says:

My kids would just love some of these things!

  6. We love our Wii! We have not had that problem with going through batteries so quickly but we also don’t have younger ones to use them up.
