Food and drink spills, dust and dirt are all minor nuisances that are part of my daily life, whether it be my toddler daughter letting her sippy cup of milk leak on the floor, the cat’s leaving bits of fur or my son tracking in dirt on his sneakers. For these small messes, I typically grab a hand towel and a water bottle for a quick clean up which by the end of the day leaves my knees aching and a laundry basket full of towels to wash. It’s an inconvenient cleaning process.
Last week, I was introduced to a more convenient option for quick clean up with the the Lysol Clean-Flip Sweeper. Initially I thought, great, another mop that will do half the job. The reality is, unlike some sweepers, the Lysol Clean-Flip actually does the job it’s intended for and then some.
One of my biggest complaints about any floor sweeper I’ve ever used is that it leaves a collection of dirt and debris along the edges of the flooring. The Clean-Flip has a unique design that not only picks up dirt along the edge of the room but actually cleans a portion of baseboards, the part that I really despise cleaning by hand. When not being used along the baseboards, the sides flip back down to the floor surface to clean even more area in less time.
After using the wet mopping cloths on our laminate flooring daily for a week, I was surprised to see that by the end of the night in a low traffic room, the cloths were still picking up dust and dirt.
While the Lysol Clean-Flip is a very light and handy cleaning tool, the lack of weight on the cleaning base actually prevents it from making full contact with the floor. As you can see from the used wet cloth above, certain areas of the cloth are picking up more dirt than others. Fortunately, it’s a minor issue for a product that I find to be quite handy for small messes and light cleaning.

Okay- its Maine and its winter. People put sand on their driveways to combat ice. Then other people walk into the house with these big boots which have treads on them about a half inch deep. These treads collect snow and sand and cling to it until it reaches my floors. Then it magically releases all over the place! Its a full time job mopping up. I keep experimenting with these kinds of mops in the hopes of finding the perfect one. As far as what gets on my floors…it’s endless. I get grease splatter in front of the stove, juice drops and other unidentified splatters and drops throughout the house. Oh and muddy doggy prints. I mop a lot.
