Valentine’s day is such a fun holiday. Some of my best memories from grade school were when we decorated envelopes and walked around the classroom passing out our cards and treats. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one that reserved the “I think you’re cute” card for the one boy I had a crush on. He would always get the prettiest handmade treat too!
And now here it is my turn to make treats for Valentine’s Day. It’s just too bad I can’t send them to school with my daughter since the rules have all changed. But I still try to make holidays special by making the little treats at home.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day you can find Peeps in a strawberry creme flavor colored red and in the shape of a heart. It’s really cute and not bad tasting either. The only thing that makes it better is sandwiching it between two graham cracker squares with a chunk of chocolate. Together they make the cutest little Valentine’s Day s’mores.
And when you pop one in the microwave for 20 seconds you get a sticky, gooey but delicious treat.
You could even take these a step further by placing the ingredients in treat bags with a cute Valentine’s Day label to share with your child’s class (if they allow homemade treats).
