Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would be cooking, cleaning or working in a kitchen fully equipped with state-of-the art appliances. When we bought our house in 2006 it did come with new appliances but they were also low end, clearanced out models. Many of them started having issues within months, some completely dying in less than 2 years. We replaced what we could and just dealt with the rest, particularly the stove.

It’s just a standard electric stove and oven that likes to burn things on the bottom and leave them under-cooked on top. Cleaning it? Forget it. Boiling water? Plan on adding 15 minutes to the cooking time because that’s exactly how long it takes to get bubbles going.

Fortunately, I’ve been blessed with an amazing opportunity to get a kitchen makeover with new appliances from Maytag. This will be my first experience with the brand, outside of what I’ve used at my parent’s house which is fully stocked with Maytag appliances.

Sometime in the next month we’ll be using and experiencing products described as French Door Refrigerator with Easy Access Refrigerator, the Jetclean Plus Dishwasher with Fully Intergrated Controls, the Over-the-Range Microwave with Stainless Steel Interior, and the 6.2 cu. Ft. Capacity Electric Range with Triple-Choice and Speed Heat Elements.

Dream come true!!!

Right now I’m looking forward to the updated, stainless steel look this appliance collection will add to my kitchen and most of all, cooking on that new stove. After delivery day comes I’ll be sharing monthly updates and in depth reviews on all of the appliances and of course plenty of recipes.

I wrote this post participating in an Maytag Moms Dependable Kitchen Ambassador program by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Maytag. I was provided with a Maytag kitchen appliances set, including a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and range to facilitate my post.

  1. Can’t wait to see your new kitchen. I think we have the same stove right now!

  2. yeah! I am so excited to see both of our new kitchens!! Btw, i hate white. I cant wait to see your kitchen w/ something new and see how it looks

    • ugh, I know, I hate white with a passion in the kitchen. I love the look of stainless steel … just not the keeping it clean part.

  3. Big congratulations to you!

  4. I cant wait to see how it goes!

  5. Congratulations! This is so amazing and those new appliances look beautiful! I’m truly happy for you and can’t wait to read about your thoughts on them. Enjoy!

  6. Like most everyone I can really use every single product. My microwave is at least 20 years old and we have to Shake it many times to turn it on. My dishwasher is 15 years and does clean like it should. My frig freezes food onthe top shelf and the back half of the second shelf. My stove works Fine. I look forward to reading about this products. But I am a little jealous. I know you will enjoy them.

  7. Can not wait to see how it looks after! LOVE all those appliances.

  8. I’m super excited for you and to be a Maytag Mom right along with you. Those new appliances are going to look fab in your house!

    • Yah! I’m so glad you’re joining me on this campaign. Maybe we should come up with a themed recipe day next month.

  9. Awesome! Happy for you! That’s a great opportunity… When we bought our place in 2007, it came with low end stainless steel appliances. The refrigerator rattles, the oven – just like yours it bakes unevenly and leaves things burnt on the bottom and under-cooked on top! Our dishwasher doesn’t work and when I read reviews of it online I was glad we don’t use it because it has been known to cause fires! Yikes! So my only hope for new appliances anytime in the future is a similar ambassador program with stuff to feature on my blog :) Until then I’ll male-do with what we’ve got!

    • Anastasia, that is so scary. Is the brand offering to repair or replace it? Something that dangerous should be recalled.

      • They are old and came with the house, so there is no hope for replacement. I don’t mind not having a dishwasher, but the fridge and stove of course get a ton of use. I bake almost every day in the winter and every few days in the summer! :)

  10. Congrats! I can’t wait to see how it all looks in your kitchen! I need a stove badly, maybe next year!

  11. Congratulations to you! I’m excited to be a Maytag Mom too! I’m sure you will be doing lots of cooking on your new stove. Can’t see the recipes you come up with.

  12. Karen R says:

I really, really like that refrigerator!

  13. Oh, wow! I just read about Kathleen of Katydid and Kid’s makeover too and I must say that’s an INCREDIBLE opportunity! Congratulations on being chosen :)

Like I told her, a well equipped kitchen can make or break a house and it’s inhabitants! I can’t tell you how much my mom would KILL for a useable kitchen; she’s always complaining how small it is, how much there isn’t any space, etc.

  14. Congratulations! You will most definitely put them to good use. :) I love the dishwasher and French door fridge–I can’t wait to see how they look in your kitchen!

  15. OK — First, I am SERIOUSLY jealous! We are in decommissioned military housing and have a mish-mash of stuff…some white, some almond, all with issues. My oven bakes slowly…I didn’t realize HOW slowly until I nearly turned a batch of blueberry muffins into charcoal while at my family reunion. Our refrigerator wafles between being too cold and freezing everything and not being quite cold enough…and our dishwasher…well, that’s a story for another time…and best told, surely, over a glass of wine!

Second — I want to know how I might be able to do this!

THIRD — I am SO HAPPY for you…I predict that you are going to love them all! We’re BIG Maytag fans (both our washer and drier, which we run mercilessly) are dependable Maytags! :)

  16. I’m all familiar with those white appliances. My old townhouse had them and they were the same – new, but low quality. I’m super excited about the Maytag program and I can’t wait to see how our kitchen upgrades turn out!

  17. I have a range with microwave on top and I used it to deforst something now I can’t get it back in the cook mode. Can someone help?
