No, I’m not talking about the reality show, Survivor. I’m talking about my toddler.
You would think a grown woman would be no match for the underdeveloped mind of a toddler. Well, let me tell you this girl is the most mischievous, stubborn, clever, and willful child I’ve ever encountered.
Our daughter Kaydence, who’s not quite two has gotten into the habit of taking her clothes off, stripping off the diaper and running naked. Usually it’s not a big deal, we’ll tell her not to do that and put her clothes back on. Well, lately she’s been doing this during nap time which results in me finding her naked in the crib on a sheet full of pee. Clearly there’s a big flashing sign saying “I’m Ready for the Potty Mom!” written all over this. I’m just not sure where start.
But here’s the kicker.
The other day I about blew my stack because she did this little undressing routine AGAIN, peed on her crib sheet AGAIN, and I just couldn’t take it anymore.
a) I’m tired of washing crib sheets
b) I’ve tried every type of clothing possible to prevent this
Finally it hit me. I ran to the closet, grabbed one of her footed pajamas and cut the feet off. I put the pajamas on her backwards so the zipper ran up her back instead of on the front size so she no longer had access.
Then I spent a good 10 minutes laughing my head off as I watched her spin circles like a cat chasing its tail trying to get ahold of that zipper.
It was a proud mommy moment.

LOL…that is too funny!
Hilarious! Good job Mom!
Look out! Kaydence is probably preparing her next plan of attack. Revenge can be ugly and I bet she’s got a good one for you :D.
smarter than the toddler Yes U are. 4 kds and i never had that problem yet my 1st loved to b naked but e was potty trained at 1. different breed.
Haha thats hilarious cat. I think our kids would get along. Mine is a crazy naked baby too.
I love this invention. Do you think you can work on a lasso for wrangling them to where you’re going to put their clothes on?
My daughter did this a couple of times, but she can’t undo a button yet. So I still have options. She woke up completely dry from overnight. So I am with you on the “time to potty train” but not sure where to start. I am doing a review on a new potty kit soon. So I hope that goes well!
very resourceful!
That is PERFECT! I am going to have to try that one!!! My daughter has been stripping during naptime for a while now…{not everytime} {and by no means does she fall asleep EVERYTIME I put her down for her nap}. I am really going to have to try this!
Thats great! I wish I would of thought of that with mine,my 4 year old still streaks! She is potty trained a long time now,she just thinks her undies are the way to go lol
OMG that’s sooooooooooo funny! I love it! lmao Great idea! :)
Haha what an excellent idea! My oldest does that too. I have read sooo many blog posts of kids about this same age doing this so it must be a rite of passage into the terrible twos? lol
I’ve been lucky enough that my daughter never went through that stage but I’ve had friends who put diapers on backward or literally duck taped the diaper on. I can’t blame them since some of them had kids who pooped and then spread it all over the carpet and bed.
Yay, one for the home team. I have a wild and wooly 2-yr-old BOY and he’s a challenge, so I feel like you just won a good one for the team. Go you! :)
LOL! Good thinking! My daughter is only (almost) 14 months old and I think she’s going to be the same way with her clothes/diaper in the near future. LOL.
You are too funny!
I love it!!! My son has started unzipping his jammies at night too. What a great solution. Pee is definitely not fun. Poo.. is worse.
good job mom!
THANK YOU! You won one for the Mommys of the World.
Husband just said, “Why are you laughing so loud?” LOVE the cat analogy! Gave me the perfect pic in my head, couldn’t have done better with a Flip!
LOL my mother inlaw told me to do the same thing when my kids started removing their clothes- BEST TRICK EVER! muhahahaha
