We had a pretty low-key New Year’s Eve celebration. Good food, good company and finishing it off watching the ball drop at 11pm, since it comes on tv an hour early here. Everyone got a turn with tiara, even my kitty and sleeping Kaydee who tuckered out long before midnight came.

The real fun began on New Year’s Day. We decided everyone needed to get out of the house and took the kids bowling, which was the very first time for both Kaydee and Emma. Surprisingly, we made it through an entire two hours without any kids slipping on the floor or throwing a ball backwards. But there was the one oopsy when Kaydee’s ball jumped out of our lane and into the gutter of our neighbor’s lane.

The real shocker …. a bowling alley actually has pretty decent food. We made need to do this again soon.

When it was all said and done, I remembered just how much I LOVE bowling. I let loose, smiled, laughed, hopped up and down like a child when I actually got a strike and didn’t rub it in too bad when I beat them all with a whopping score of 111 … with bumpers. LMAO!

  1. We went bowling on Sunday, it is one of my family’s favorite things to do. How weird would it be to see the ball drop an hour early. I never thought about that since I live on the East Coast.

  2. In the past we have always gone bowling on NYE. It was so much fun but it’s so darn expensive.

    • It’s a lot more expensive than I remember. It’s $4 per person per game plus $4 per shoe rental. Plus the food and it’s a pricey family activity.

  3. So much fun! I love bowling! We spend it napping together :) So exciting, right? lol

  4. That looks like tons of fun and I love the tiaras! We ate lunch at my grandmother’s and then vegged out at home.

  5. Evelyn Goettner says:

I haven’t been bowling in years! My youngest has never been bowling but asked to have a bowling party this year after he went for a friends party.

  6. Bowling is a blast. I started bowling when I was 5 and now we do it for fun often. Looks like you all had a great time and yes bowling alley food is usually pretty yummy!!

  7. Firstly, I must say….I WANT A TIARA! LOL Now that that’s out of the way, it looks like you guys had a ton of fun! I haven’t been bowling in a long time, but I do quite love it when I’m able to go ^.^ I, too, and shocked at how delicious that bowling alley food looks!

My boyfriend and I went to be early on New Year’s Eve (he was exhausted and I was sick), so we ended up celebrating on New Year’s Day with a bottle of cheap champagne and board games. It was a blast :)

  8. Bowling is fun! We had a bowling party for my daughter’s 10th birthday 2 years ago, we had all the girls dress up in 80’s outfits, it was a blast!

  9. I love the tiara pictures! I haven’t been bowling in ages–it’s pretty much the only sport I don’t suck at, so I should really do it more often. :) I hope you have a Happy New Year!

  10. I haven’t gone bowling in years. Looks like so much fun!
