Every once in awhile my husband and I get a free hour away from the kids to sneak out for a lunch date. One of our favorite places to grab a quick bite to eat is Arby's. We've got several locations around the city which makes them convenient when you've only got half an hour or so. Our most recent visit was to the west side Springfield, IL location that's featuring the new Grand Turkey Club Sandwich.
In addition to my favorite curly fries, I tried the Grand Turkey Club that's piled high with more sliced turkey than I could ever eat by myself and delicious toppings like melted Swiss cheese, pepper bacon, leaf lettuce, tomato and mayo, all sandwiched between a toasted Harvest wheat bun. At 480 calories, it also fits in with my daily allotted calories for lunch! While I do love Arby's fries, this sandwich is a meal in itself with so much roasted turkey piled on the sandwich.
If you're looking for an even bigger bite to eat, there's also the Grand Turkey & Ham Club that comes with everything the Grand Turkey Club has but with the addition of fresh sliced ham. It's only available at select locations which ours was not one of so I didn't get a chance to try it. But that's okay, the Grand Turkey Club sandwich was big enough to satisfy my appetite.
While I do love that fresh sliced turkey, my favorite part of any sandwich is the veggies. I'd love to see Arby's pile on more lettuce or an extra slice of tomato to make this absolutely perfect. On the other hand, my husband loved this sandwich exactly as it is. He's a huge meat lover and appreciated the extra large helping of turkey on this sandwich.
