This past Memorial Day Weekend we celebrated like many do with a family cookout and plenty of food. When we do a get-together everyone always brings a few different side dishes so there’s a variety available. One of the dishes I whipped together was made with the help of the new Kraft Sizzling Salads kits.
Each kit comes with two bottles: a cooking sauce for the chicken and a dressing for salad. You can pair them on a plate as a whole meal or toss them together as a hearty side salad. I chose the latter pairing the zesty fajita chicken with a simple green salad topped with cherry tomatoes and the barbecue ranch dressing. Initially the flavor combo sounded a bit odd but together they really do make for a different and interesting salad flavor. It’s a far cry better than a typical ranch salad.
Making this salad come together is an easy 4 step process:
- Gather your Ingredients – you’ll need a Kraft Sizzling Salads kit, chicken breast tenders, lettuce and your favorite veggie toppings.
- Prepare the salad – toss together your greens and chopped veggies and toss them lightly with the kit dressing.
- Prepare the chicken – skillet fry the chicken in light oil and coat with the cooking sauce.
- Pull it Together – chop the chicken into bite size chunks and sprinkle over the salad and serve.
