Years ago, I was a coffee fanatic. I would have a cup to wake up, a cup with a bubble bath and maybe even a cup of decaf to settle down for the night. Unfortunately, coffee is just not very agreeable with my stomach these days but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying one every once in awhile with a little dessert. These days you can find coffees in just about any flavor you can imagine. A new coffee from Donut Shop brand includes a very dessert-like Coconut Mocha flavor. Drink it by itself or pair it with an oh-so-tempting Coconut Mocha brownie. They’re kinda made for each other.

The Original Donut Shop™ Coffee, a fun brand of coffee that doesn’t take itself too seriously – aka the “quirky cousin” of the Green Mountain Coffee® family of brands is one of my new personal favorites and the coffee that inspired me to make these decadent brownies. Much like the coffee, there’s a rich chocolatey-mocha flavored brownie topped with coffee buttercream and nutty toasted coconut shreds.

Want to make these brownies at home? Well, it’s quite simple. Just take your favorite boxed brownie mix, follow the directions but add 2 tablespoons of instant coffee granules to the batter. The coffee flavor won’t be that noticeable but it does enhance the flavor of the chocolate. Once the brownies are baked and cooled you can make a simple coffee buttercream with 1/2 stick of butter, 2 tablespoons of milk, 1 tablespoon of instant coffee granules and about 1-1/2 to 2 cups of powdered sugar. Blended together you get a rich buttercream to top the brownies off with. Top it all off with some sweeteened coconut shreds that have been toasted in the oven for a few minutes to make the perfect Coconut Mocha dessert for your Donut Shop Coconut Mocha Coffee.

    Do they make a chocolate hazelnut coffee flavor yet? It seems like that would be an obvious combination but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before! Yum!

    I’m going to say Raspberry/Vanilla – I always get a shot of each with my lattes (although I DO have to let some baristas know NOT to put in the raspberry shots before they put in the milk – otherwise, it curdles – ask me how I know :)). It would be great to have a flavored coffee with these two flavors. Thanks for the chance to win!

    I love Caramel Mocha….it is so divine! I pour caramel in all of my coffee drinks…makes me feel super sexy and smooth, lol

    I have such a conflict with my love for coffee and my love for chocolate. When paired, the chocolate love kicks in and it always tastes too weak. So I’m happiest either drinking coffee or hot chocolate
    Love cinnamon paired with vanilla or hazelnut. I’d love to see additional cinnamon combinations offered
