After seeing the new Disney Brave movie when it opened, little Miss Kaydee has been talking about it ever since. She slowly built up a collection of every Brave and Merida toy she could find and now, as if all that wasn’t enough, she had to have a Brave birthday party. It suited her perfectly since she’s my curly headed, strong willed, rebellious little girl that loves all things blue and purple. We even let her dress up as Merida complete with a red-haired Merida wig and Merida Princess costume.
We set up the table with party decorations found at Party City and Walmart. You wouldn’t believe how difficult it is to find Braved themed stuff right now.
Before cake and ice cream she dove into her presents, the really big one being an Apple iPod Shuffle. This girl loves music and dancing so I knew it would be the perfect gift for her. Plus it keeps her hands off my iPhone which she keeps dropping all over the house.
For the cake, we found the only place that had one with a Brave theme was Walmart. While I usually prefer to make the cake myself, this was just so much easier since it’s 90+ degrees outside. Turning on the oven just wasn’t gonna happen.
After the cake, homemade sorbet (thanks mom!) and presents we let the kids loose into the pool and bounce house to cool off. It was pretty much the perfect birthday and I managed to keep the house semi-clean and stress-free.
