iPhone Photography | Spring Flowers errr Weeds

Despite my husbands hatred of dandelion weeds, I happen to adore these flowers. Yes, to me, they are gorgeous spring flowers, you’ll never convince me otherwise. But I do see how miserable the poor guy gets with all the little seeds pop up, especially when I’m out there blowing them all over the yard.

Just across the street from our neighborhood is a huge area of undeveloped land that has the most amazing display of dandelions.

The kids happen to love them as much as we do.

I also cut myself a fresh bouquet of lilacs from my front yard. I felt like the incredible scent was being wasted just sitting outside so I spruced up my desk.

So what do you say … are you a dandelion lover or hater?

I am with your husband, I hate those yellow weeds too. ;) The more you try to pull and estroy them, the more they multiply. Now lilacs I love! I can’t wait for ours to bloom.

LOL it seems that way doesn’t it. Every year my husband goes out in our yard with weed killer and every year I hide the bottle from him. I understand his allergy issues, I see how miserable he is but I also don’t want chemicals all over my yard soaking into the soil.

I completely agree about the chemicals. I won’t use them either. So instead I just curse at the dandelions.

Shae also loves those kind of flowers errr weeds. LOL. Cute pictures of your girls.

    Happy WW!

Thanks Rob … they were pretty excited being out there. Emma retreated to a dirt hill to go dig up while Kaydee collected a whole bag of the dandelions.

Gavin just LOVES dandelions and popping their heads off lol Hubby would FREAK if our yard had all those in it too! I am a HUGE lilac lover too! I want bushes to line our proprty but they are so expensive.

What? They’re edible? I don’t know if I would do that, I think I’d be too freaked out about people letting their dogs walk by and pee on them. lol

I love them. I think nothing looks better than a coloured field, even if it is coloured with ‘weeds’ Mind you, there are a lot more around now than when I was a kid!

You never did that? You take a yellow dandelion and “check” to see if they like butter by rubbing it under their chin. If it leaves yellow (and of course it does), you say, yep you like butter!

It’s a silly game but we played it all the time!

        • says

LOL no I’ve never heard of that. But we did rub the yellow on our arms and legs to see how much of our body we could color yellow.

I’ve always enjoyed dandelions and those pictures are adorable. I love the bouquet you put together!

I like Dandelions and I love the puffs they leave behind even more :) They’re full of wishes!! I wish your hubby luck with trying to get rid of them with that HUGE field of them near your house… um ya.

M brought me a dandelion flower from school. And I love lilacs! They smell amazing.

  8. says

I think a field of dandelions is a lot better looking than a big patch of dirt. :) Not my favorite flower but I always loved making a wish and blowing the seeds off into the wind. Love the lilacs – so pretty and I can just imagine how good they must smell.

I am a dandelion LOVER! They are so pretty. I also love Lilacs, they are my favorite ever, can’t wait til ours blooms!

I am a dandelion lover, but they don’t seem to grow in FL so I haven’t been able to blow some of those white seeds in ages.
We do have dollarweed, which is disastrous to our lawn and doesn’t look pretty at all at any time!
I love the other photos, the girls are getting so big.
I also adore the smell of lilac, which we also don’t have down here in FL, so I got a wax melt for my candle warmer. =)

I’m a dandelion hater just because I know it seems bees are extra attracted to them and I’m anti-bees ha!
