How to Get Organized for the Holidays with the Brother P-Touch

Last week I shared my very disorganized spice cabinet. It’s my go to cabinet when I’m cooking or baking especially during the holidays. With the help of my daughter we were on a mission to completely clean out this cabinet and get everything in order. We started by grouping bottles into categories like: baking decorations, extracts, bulk spices and more. Then we pulled out the Brother P-Touch Label Maker to create designers labels for the cabinet so everyone in the house knows where each bottle goes.

The really cool thing about this particular label maker is that is goes beyond just plain text labels. You can choose different fonts, text sizes and even add pretty borders. Since these labels will be seen in my kitchen I created an elegant vine border around the labels. The Brother P-Touch  also has a lot of different label color options beyond the black text on white labels.

After we grouped the bottles and jars into sections I printed the labels and the P-Touch has a built in cutter to make the job even easier. Now every bottle I use for cooking or baking is where it belongs and easy to find when I need it most.

I also used the label maker to create some really cute holiday gift tags. There are dozens of different mini pictures you can add to the labels like the presents and bells I used in the picture above. You could stick these right on the present or cut out gift tags from card stock and wrap the labels around those.

After Christmas when we’re boxing up all the decorations, lights and ornaments into tubs I’ll be using the label maker to tag each tub so I know just where to find everything this time next year.

If you’re like me and feeling a little disorganized this holiday season, be sure to visit the Brother P-Touch tab on Facebook where you can join the holiday organization discussion, find tips and perhaps learn a few ways to make your life less chaotic.

  1. Oh I love the little pictures on there! I have an old label maker (the older version of the P-Touch) I always forget to buy label refills for. I need to order labels to get more organized – although maybe I should upgrade first, I do love the mini pictures.

    • Aren’t they cute? It’s amazing how label makers have changed. I need to get over to the office supply store and pick up some of the other color options.

  2. I need one of these – would be great for labeling baby food!

  3. I love what you did with the pantry! It looks good. And genius to use it as tags!!
