Ever since our daughters first saw the Brave movie commercials I knew this was going to be the movie of the year for these girls. Their first experience with the movie Brave was a daddy-daughter date to the theater so they could see it on the big screen. After that it was nothing but “mommy can we get the DVD?” “mommy, can I have the bears” “mommy will you make me a Merida birthday cake?” … the must-haves went on on.
So that’s when it was officially decided that Kaydee would celebrate her 5th birthday party in a Brave theme, complete with the Brave Princess Merida Formal Costume Dress and she just couldn’t pull it off without the fire red wig as well.
And if that completely over-done Brave birthday party was enough, we even stumbled onto a meet and greet with Merida herself while on our first trip to Disney World this summer. Luck was on our side that day because we literally stumbled right into her and found ourselves just a few short minutes from the front of the line. This 5 minute meeting with Merida was the highlight of our trip (at least for Kaydee). Emma was still begging to go back and see Ariel some more.
And to my surprise, a copy of the new Brave Ultimate Collector’s Edition arrived on our doorstep. The excitement these girls had was enough to make you’d think they had won the Lotto or something. It took about 30 seconds to get it unboxed and into the blu-ray player.
As a parent, I keep a watchful eye over new movies that come into our house and this one definitely passed the mommy test. The girls loved the rebellious nature of Merida (which I’m sure Kaydee can relate to). This Ultimate Collector’s Edition includes: Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, DVD and a Digital copy, basically covering every possible need you could ever have. I can say without a doubt, this movie will be the must-have stocking stuffer of 2012.
You can pre-order your copy on Amazon from now until November 13th for just $34.96 with free shipping for Amazon Prime members.
*I was provided with a copy of the DVD set featured.
