Since Thanksgiving week I’ve had a lot of time to get acquainted with our new Maytag Ice2O French Door Refrigerator. With all the cooking and baking I was doing, there were so many things I had to stuff int here. At one point I had 4 gallons of milk, a 9 inch cheesecake, 3 trays of yeast rolls and a bowl of dough for bread. By the time I was done prepping all the dough I found my refrigerator shelves completed stacked to the max. What really surprised me … it all fit!

Seeing just how much this refrigerator can hold makes me hopeful for Christmas dinner I’ll be hosting in just a few weeks where most of prep work and cooking will be done in my kitchen.

Adjustable Spill-Catcher™ Shelves

At first I wasn’t really understanding why this feature would be important. From outward appearances they just look like normal shelves. That is until your child knocks over a saved cup of milk and you need to get it cleaned up. The edges are sealed which help contain the mess, plus the shelve slides out easily making it very convenient.

Vertical Wine Holder Bin

If you look at the picture above on the left door you’ll see a green bottle on the middle shelf. This is actually a wine bottle holder bin which could be a great feature for wine drinks. However, we’re not, so this feels like a wasted space that could be better designed. For now I just stick my Parmesan cheese bottle in there.

French Door Shelves

My biggest complaint with the refrigerator is the way the door bins were designed. Many tall condiment bottles just don’t fit and have to be placed in the center of the fridge. There’s no obvious space for butter or eggs and the ice maker takes up quite a bit of interior space.

Inside the center of the fridge there’s a lot of open space which is great for things like a big turkey, a sheet cake or several gallons of milk. It’s really lacking in the bin department with only one small drawer.

Maytag Refrigerator Drawer Organiztion

Easy Access Refrigerator Drawer

Shown above, this feature is incredible. I use this space for my fresh vegetables, drinks and snacks for the kids. They can slide out the drawer and get what they need without opening the entire refrigerator. The built-in dividers make it easy to keep everything well organized.

Measured Dispense System and a Look Inside the Freezer

I’d love to hear from you … does your refrigerator have a feature that stands out to you, especially during the holidays?

  1. WOw I love the pull out drawer! I have a standard boring fridge that fits very little and started leaking last week. I will have to look into something like this to replace it!

  2. See your middle drawer is all organized…..i think it really depends on the food cause mine is all full of random crap. LOL! I cant open my fridge on the left..its against the wall. I hate that part of my kitchen!

  3. Holy moly that’s a lot of cream cheese! LOL Now I want a bagel!
That’s a really neat fridge. I have a regular old side by side fridge/freezer and have always wanted one with the freezer on the bottom. We rarely use our freezer so it is just a waste of space :(

  4. This fridge looks amazing. My side-by-side is so small that I have to stack things often. I love the pull out drawer as well!

  5. I love your Parmesan Cheese holder! But you are right – it does seem like wasted space. The dividers for the center drawer are great! My fridge has two HUGE drawers that I love – so I would like to see more drawer space in this fridge. Additionally, a place for eggs and butter would be a fantastic addition.

    • I couldn’t think of anything else that would fit there nicely and since we always have at least one bottle of the Parm, it just seemed like the best option.

      • I typically buy the fresh parmesan (in the shredded cheese section), so it wouldn’t work for me. BUT, I do like that you found something to put in that space rather than just leaving it open & empty.

  6. I love your new refrigerator! This is the kind I one day hope to buy. Thanks for sharing your experiences with yours.

  7. I am so jealous of that awesome pull out drawer. I would be in heaven!
