After giving the guest bathroom a makeover last week, I felt the need to give our personal bathroom a little upgrade too.
Before I got started this room had plain off-white walls with a bamboo printed shower curtain. The natural and green theme is something I personally love and use throughout my house so I didn’t want to change the feel of this room too much.
While shopping at Kohl’s with my mom I found this leafy green and tan shower curtain that was priced 50% off. It is just my style! Along with some tan paint on the walls it really gave this bathroom a more home-like feel.
The matching hand towels were also on sale and look great against the tan wall color.I actually color matched the paint to the light tan stripe in the towel.
As luck would have it, I went back to Kohl’s a few days later and found this framed print … again 50% off … and it fit absolutely perfect with theme.
One new thing I added to this bathroom was from an idea I found on another blog a few months back. It’s driving me crazy not being able to remember which blog it was but she suggested adding a hanging shoe rack for storage. Rather than clog up the one cabinet I have in my bathroom this makes it easy to store cleaners up high, hair products, brushes, pretty much anything you use on a regular basis all within easy reach. And it’s hidden behind the door.
Again, this was a mini makeover that cost less than $100 all because I made small changes and shopped sales.
I absolutely love the fact that my bathroom makeover inspired someone else to make a change in their home, check out Alison’s mini bathroom makeover if you’re looking for more inspiration.
