Years ago when our family first visited Marco Island, Florida we rented a condo on the beach. When I say on the beach, I mean it was a high rise building, musty, old and we were stuck up on the 7th floor. It wasn’t exactly a beachfront suite like we experienced at the Marco Island Marriott Resort. You had to take the elevator down, walk through the lobby, over a bridge and walk the burning hot sand to get to the ocean.

Our experience with the Marco Island Marriott Resort was much, much different. Not only was the property right on the beach but it was modern and gorgeous. Even the sign out front is inviting you into this tropical paradise.

One of our favorite things about the resort is the landscaping. You certainly don’t feel like you’re in a hotel when you walk up the lush waterfall and sit under a palm tree just taking in all the beauty.

It’s a beautiful thing to drive up above the waterfall and drop your car off with the extremely friendly valet. Not a single time were we not greeted with a smile, hello and how was your day. It’s just nice to be around so many friendly people.

This is just one of the many palm trees we loved visiting throughout our stay here.

And for those of you with small children or just not a big fan of warm ocean water …. there’s two incredibly large and fun pool areas. This one even has a waterfall you can sit under while your kids splash around in the pool.

Looking for some thrills? You must check out the water slide for the kids. The water is a shallow 3 feet 2 inches in this area making it fun for even small children.

Aside from the many restaurants, beautiful suites and fun pools, you’ll also find a full service spa. I wish I had found time to squeeze in a trip to it for some relaxation. Perhaps that will have to be on my must-do list next time we visit in a couple of years.

Disclosure – Our family was provided with a complimentary stay at the resort.

  1. That resort looks absolutely beautiful! You weren’t kidding when you said it was modern and breathtaking :) And it looks like a really good time, too!

  2. That slide is AWESOME! Wow — absolutely gorgeous hotel and it does seem very family friendly. No I kinda wanna visit Florida!

  3. Wow, this resort is amazing! I am a big BIG fan of Marriott hotels. We stayed at one for a week at Disney, hubby always stays at a Marriott while traveling for business and we earn great rewards on our Marriott card. Great chain. This particular location looks amazing!

  4. As a kid we went to Marco Island once a year every Winter! My parents had a time share (my Mom still does) at the Eagle’s Nest Resort which I believe is right next door to the Marriot! This property is gorgeous! Love the water slide and waterfall! I’d love to go back to Marco Island one day with my hubby and our kids. They’ve never visited there. Looks like you had an amazing time!
