We’re halfway through January and I’m secretly hoping we can just skip right on passed my big fat 29+1 birthday and go straight into planning Miss Emma’s 4th birthday in February. She’s always such a fun kid to plan for because unlike her brother and sister, she got a winter birthday. It means we have to get creative with indoor party fun since it’s just so gosh darn cold outside.
This year she was wavering back and forth between an Ariel and Strawberry Shortcake birthday party theme. Of course she picks the one that isn’t quite so easy to find supplies for. Local bakeries don’t have any strawberry shortcake themed cakes so I’ve been searching on my Windows 8x to find ideas I can make myself.
One of the cool things about this phone is I can snap pictures and screenshots, then “star” them into a Favorites folder for easy access later. During my online search for Strawberry Shortcake theme ideas I saved some really neat ones including a pink ombre cake, a tutu from Etsy and party supplies.
I pulled out my Wilton Cupcake supplies and toyed around with a cupcake idea that I think Emma is going to love. The two-tone cupcake has strawberry cake in the center and french vanilla on the outside. And when I’m making small batches of cupcakes to test like this I love pulling out the Windows 8x to snap a picture and add it to my favorites.
By the time January is over I think I just might have her entire birthday party planned out and right at my fingertips when I need it.
Are you currently planning any birthday parties right now? I’d love to hear what themes are popular with your kids.
Disclosure – I received the Windows 8X by HTC through Social Chorus to test out and share my experiences. #Troop8X #HTC8
