We’ve stayed on the island once before and as each day passed we had wished we booked a room here instead of the condo we rented. While a condo was cheaper and included just as much accessibility to the beach, there’s no comparison in terms of quality and comfort. Walking into the resort we instantly knew this would soon feel like home. We were greeted by the friendliest staff I’ve ever experienced who promptly packed up our suitcases and delivered them to our room just minutes after we got there ourselves.
Actually, our suitcases were being unloaded in our room before we even knew they were here because we didn’t hear the door bell. We were all too busy outside admiring the amazing view.
I don’t know about you but when I’m on vacation I want a true vacation experience and that means having a view of something other than a parking lot. The Lanai Suites at the Marco Island Marriott deliver a view and then some. Whether you’re on the bottom or top floor you can quite literally open your patio door and walk right onto the white beach.
As much time as we are spending on the beach we’re also enjoying the comfort of the suite. Inside there’s a beautiful little dining area for our room service meals or take out.
Just beyond the french doors separating the living space from the bedroom is the crown jewel of Marriott rooms … the King size bed. That right there is why we choose Marriott 9 times out of 10 when we’re traveling. I’ve never, ever experienced a more comfortable bed in a hotel. The feather willows, the linens, all of it. Heavenly!
After a quick look over our room we darted back outside to check out the beach once more. Below you’ll see a view from the beach of the Lanai Suites which are just two levels high and situated right on the beach.
Since I knew I’d never be able to let go of my digital life (and blogging) while on vacation I even managed to get my MacBook set up at the little tech station in the room. It has just about everything you’ll need including a desk, phone, modem for wired internet (or wireless) and several outlets to hook up your devices.
After an afternoon of roaming the beach I found myself craving this gorgeous corner whirlpool bath tub. I couldn’t have asked for a better amenity in a suite than this right here. It’s big enough for one, two or even three if you happen to have two toddlers with you that like to steal mommy’s bubble bath time.
And if that gorgeous bath tub wasn’t enough, there’s also a “couples” sized shower that has an incredibly relaxing rain style shower head. I can’t say that I used one more than the other because they were both pretty amazing whether I wanted to relax or rinse off after a day at the beach.
Inside the master bathroom there’s a beautiful vanity and just down the hallway (yes, I said hallway, inside your room!) there’s a smaller bathroom.
All that aside, what I think makes this suite truly special is all of the little things. There’s amazing decorative touches that really make you feel like you’re on an island vacation starting with this beautiful ceiling fan in the bedroom.
For coffee or tea lovers like myself, there’s a nice little brewing station set up complete with a coffee pot, cups, beverages and more. Just below you’ll find a mini fridge stocked with goodies and drinks and a second fridge that’s free to use for anything you need to keep chilled.
One thing that my husband found hiding out in the bedroom was a nice little alarm clock with a docking station for your iPhone. How nice is that?
Overall, our experience at the Marco Island Marriott Resort & Spa has been nothing short of a dream. The only complaint I could make is the noise of other guests. We found that occasionally someone in the room above us would scoot a chair across the floor but really, it’s hardly even worth mentioning.
The ammenities of the Lanai Suite are just the tip of the iceberg as far as what this resort has to offer. After we get back home and settled I’ll be sharing the full experience here.
Disclosure – Our family was provided with a complimentary stay at the resort.
