Last weekend I was digging through my holiday themed baking supplies and ran into the pumpkin mini cake pan that I had actually never used for cakes. It was something I enjoyed using for shaping Rice Krispies Treats but it works great for cakes or brownies too. This little pumpkin treat is so easy to make, requires no recipe and is a lot of fun for kids because they get to decorate and eat!

Pumpkin Brownie Treats

What You’ll Need

  • 1 box brownie mix (plus printed ingredients)
  • 1 tub prepared cake icing
  • orange food coloring (or red/yellow)
  • preparing piping icing in black and green
  • Wilton Non-Stick Jack-O-Lantern Mini Cakes Pan (or a pumpkin shaped cookie cutter)

These are so easy to make and the kids will love decorating them. I just used my Wilton pumpkin shaped pan but you could also bake your brownies on a sheet pan and cut them out with a cookie cutter.

Once cooled, these pumpkin brownies already have the face shape on one side. It makes a great guide for piping the faces.

Color your icing and frost! I just used a simple black icing but you could let the kids go wild with sprinkles too!

  2. Adorable!!!

  3. These are adorable. I’m always looking for a project when the grands come. Icing is their favorite!

  4. These look great. I was trying to make a sock bear with my daughter in time for Halloween but it’s all gone terribly wrong. I was cooking a chicken korma at the time, which also turned out to be a disaster. I’m going to try these. Thanks for sharing.

    • Kristie, I feel your pain. There are days when I do things and all goes horribly wrong. That’s when I just take the rest of the day off and start again the next.

  5. Those are SO adorable! Love them.

  6. Wow, I guess giving my son a bag of candy corn is NOT going to cut it this year. I need to step my game up. Awesome once again, Cat.

  7. So cute!! I’ve seen these pans. I’m hoping within a week I can get a bit of a discount. (I know, cheapo! HA!)

    • LOL no, that’s smart. I love scoping out the after season stuff on sale at Michaels. This pan isn’t seasonal so it probably won’t go on sale but it’s still good to have. You can make a lot of fun stuff with it.

  8. Hi, these look yummy, I shared it with my Facebook friends.
