If you’ve been walking through life with foot pain caused by ill fitting shoes, you’ll want to listen up. For years, I’ve moaned and groaned because I couldn’t find shoes that would support my high arches and cushion my heels. It’s a pain I’ve just learned to live with because I had two options: buy expensive custom made shoes or use gel inserts that would solve only the heel cushion problem.

A few weeks ago I discovered a new option, Dr. Scholl’s Custom Fit Orthotic Inserts. What makes these different than typical inserts is they are custom fitted for YOUR feet with the use of the in store Kiosk with Footmapping technology. I visited my local Walmart with a kiosk where I was able to complete the Footmap Analysis in less than five minutes.

As you can see from the image above, the Dr. Scholl’s kiosk not only told me which orthotic insert was right for my feet but it also showed me where my pressure points are. After finding the right inserts for my feet, I can tell you three things:

  • Supportive – the inserts provide amazing support for my high arches and ample cushion for my heels.
  • Comfortable – the material and transition between the insert and my shoe actually feels like they are a part of my shoes.
  • Possibly Problematic – depending on how much space you have in your shoes, they could be problematic. I typically wear snug sneakers and the inserts created a tightness in my shoe that required me to loosen the laces to make room.

  1. My feet are really picky and I can feel when the inserts don’t cover my full foot. Can you feel where it starts on your foot?

    • Jenny, usually I can too with the gel kind but these blend really well inside shoes. There’s a smooth transition on the edge.

  2. Awesome! My doctor suggested I try insoles with good arch support to see if it helps a problem I’m having. The ones I’ve got don’t seem to do much. I’ll look at Walmart and see if they have this kiosk! Thanks!

  3. Donna B. says:

thanks for the review – I’ve been dying to try them! I think they’ll help – I have heel spurs, I’m flat footed and because of the arthritis in my knee, I don’t walk “balanced’ on my foot… all these contribute to my knee pain. This seems like a much cheaper route than custom orthotics.

  4. Amber says:

I need to go get mine checked out, so cool that you can stand on it and get a customized reading of which product is best for your needs!

  5. I think this sounds like a very interesting product. I have a lot of pain when I walk so when I see the kiosk I’m going to stop and check it out.

And I second Jenny’s question below and was glad to see your answer!
