Anyways, I did manage to drag myself out of bed, get the girls their chocolate milk and work my way into the kitchen to start our day off with some comfort … in the form of sausage gravy and biscuits. It’s drizzly, dreary and cold outside, why not warm up with a big bowl of artery clogging comfort food?
I’d like to stop right there and say that was the beginning of a wonderful day but about halfway through frying the sausage, Miss Emma decided to take a flying leap off a chair … head first … on hardwood floor. Fortunately, my sausage didn’t burn while comforting her and the ice pack helped bring down the goose egg on her noggin.
So tell me, what’s your go-to comfort food when the weather is soggy.

I make this every Sunday for the family. I hate it, they love it haha!
Oh you’re banned from my blog now, you can’t hate sausage gravy and visit here. LOL
lol I’m SORRY!!!!! I love Bacon!!!!
Okay, that’ll redeem you. :)
Biscuits and gravy is one of my weaknesses! Looks yum.
I adore a good crepe with fresh fruit and a cup of hot cocoa on a cold day for breakfast. This looks yummy, but would you believe I’ve only had biscuits and gravy once? It was at a restaurant. It was pretty good, but I’ve never made it at home.
Crepes are good too. I love the ones Bob Evans makes with that creamy filling and banana slices piled on top but sometimes they’re so sweet they feel like more of a dessert.
That would make me feel soooooo good on a chilly fall day. Yum!
Yes it does for sure. That and omelettes which I could totally go for right now.
My all time favorite breakfast food!
I may just have to make this for the hubby because the last time he got this (not his usual dish) it was HORRIBLE and he swore he’d never have it again. I think it’s just a matter of a good recipe like this one! :-)
Yeah, definitely don’t let him give up on it. There’s some really good recipes and really bad ones. This is my favorite and easy way.
Oh goodness, looks so yummy and comforting.
I love sausage gravy and biscuits. Haven’t had it in a while, though. For us, it’s probably chicken and dumplings. Mmmmm. Yummy.
Yumm! I know what you mean. I’ve been dieting so long, I just needed a break. I made breakfast for dinner last night and it included homemade gravy and biscuits. It was wonderful.
Mmmm I love a good breakfast for dinner, except when it involves pancakes, I can’t make those to save my life.
MMM we love artery clogging sausage and biscuits. I am making it next week so I can post my recipe. It’s delish! I also love soups and stews during the cold months.
I’ve never had sausage gravy. It’s probably something I’d like but I’m not a big gravy person.
Oh you gotta try it at least once. My husband doesn’t care for gravy either but he’ll eat my SG&Bs
I love biscuits and gravy. But you can’t use canned biscuits. That is sacrilege. Make drop biscuits from scratch. They are really simple, and so much better.
If you’ve got a great biscuit recipe to share with me, I’d love to give them a try. :)
You are teasing me with this recipe! I want that NOW!
Question…do I drain the sausage, then add the butter..etc..?
You can, but I leave the grease in there, this is one of the few times I do that with me.
Hot chocolate:)
soothes me every time. Those sausage and biscuits look so good!
Me and my dad tried making Apple pie oatmeal and scrambled egg sandwiched with bellpeppers and onions the other day for breakfast. The sandwiches turned out great, but I accidentally put too much cinnamon into the apple pie mixture..:/
I LOVE biscuits and gravy, but cannot seem to ever get my gravy to taste right.
