Last month I shared the Affresh Washer Cleaner tablets I use to clean my Whirlpool HE washer and today I wanted to update you on how well they’ve been working for me. We first started using these tablets the day our new washer arrived because it actually came with a sample pack of them. Then I noticed I started getting reminders from my washer to clean it every month. I’m talking about a literal reminder that beeps on the display screen telling you it’s time for an Affresh Wash Cycle. Now while your washer may not have this handy feature, it’s helpful to just pick a day each month to remind yourself.

These tablets are great for preventing, dissolving and removing odor causing residue in washers. Unlike bleach, it doesn’t just cover up the odors it actually removes them! I had heard all of the horror stories of stinky front loading washers but I have yet to experience one myself thanks to the Affresh Power Puck tablets. You’ll also notice in the video below that I use the Affresh Grit Grabber cloths too. These are perfect for cleaning out the odd things left behind in your washer. I’ve picked up everything from hair to sand to even macaroni with these. Yes, macaroni, don’t ask.

If you’re considering cleaning your washer with these tablets you should check out the Affresh website for more information.

Disclosure – I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of affresh and received product samples and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate. Opinions expressed are my own and I used Affresh tablets before accepting this promotional opportunity.

  1. I have the packs for my dishwasher, but am really interested in using this on my front loader now. Thanks for the great video review, it was really helpful!

  2. Ditto Tiffany. This is a great instructional video and piece! we’re looking for people to share this exact kind of instruction at fitango.com. there’s already a ton of plans and please keep sharing knowledge and ideas.

  3. I’ve had a Bosch front loader for at least 10 years and I’ve never had a smelly washer :) But…my disposal can get pretty yucky smelling1 I saw a post somewhere about Affresh for disposals, so I’m adding that to my list. Hope it works as well as the washer product!
