I Cried Tonight

There were tears of joy, but mostly tears of sadness. My baby girl isn't a baby anymore. :-( After her incident of jumping out of the crib we decided to bite the bullet and buy her a toddler bed. We spent 3 days of searching stores and finally found a white one in stock at Toys R Us. She looks so sweet in there but it still breaks my heart to watch her grow so quickly. It seems like just yesterday I was feeling her tiny little kicks in my … [Read more...]

It’s Time!

Time for what?....a Toddler bed. My heart dropped today when I heard a big thud come from my daughter's room during her nap...it was the biggest thud I'd ever heard. Then came silence and a big wail of cries. I sprinted to her bedroom to find my precious baby girl laying face down on the floor crying her little heart out. We sat there for probably 15 minutes just holding each other before I could check her out to make sure nothing was bleeding or … [Read more...]

I can now rest easy!

After months of contemplating baby names, and even deciding on names at one point, we've finally done it. At first we had decided the names would be Hunter Reid or Savannah Sue. Then my husband got a hair up his rear and decided he didn't like the name Savannah anymore. This is after we found out we were having a girl at an early gender scan. Now that we have confirmation that she is indeed a she, I feel comfortable giving her a name.I chose the … [Read more...]

Ever have one of those days…

spaghettios

Ever have one of those days where... 1. You don't fee like doing dishes so you're left eating lunch out of a measuring cup? 2. Again, you're too lazy to fix any real food so you scavenge for an easy fix ending up with your son's spaghetti o's? 3. You have to then follow up your lunch with a dozen Tums because kid friendly soups aren't made for pregnant, adult stomachs? Yeah...that was much lunch and dessert. … [Read more...]

Chicken Mommy

Whether it's getting her attention back on food, sitting still for a diaper change or just healing a boo-boo...this little diddy works every time.It all started when we ran into a chicken dressed Elmo doll and after listening to him I couldn't stop giggling. Since then my husband and I have gotten in on the act and love to perform it for our little toddler. The problem is the song doesn't work unless mommy dances, which involves flapping my arms … [Read more...]

The Results are in!

Remember the Intelligender Test I ordered a few weeks ago? Well, it finally came. Actually, the first one supposedly got lost in the mail and they quickly sent me a replacement. The waiting has been killing me. Since my marriage is in the dumps, I'm going to enjoy thinking about pink or blue for now. I did take a picture of my test result, unfortunately I can't find my camera connection cord to upload it. But....I found a test result on the … [Read more...]

Picture Perfect

I'm back! My little bean is well...no longer a bean, in fact a 2 inch + legs (I don't know why they don't factor legs in) little person! S/he is measuring exactly 12 weeks 3 days with a strong heartbeat. I'm pretty sure the baby was sleeping when we started the ultrasound because s/he was just laying all curled up not moving a muscle....that is of course until the technician decided to jab my belly with the magic wand and I kid you not this baby … [Read more...]

Breastfeeding: 5 Things (I think) You Should Know

index

Of course there are many more than just 5 things I think every woman should know about breastfeeding, but for the sake of blog space, I'll stick to my personal top 10, in no particular order. 1) It's Perfect. Yes, I said it, breast milk is perfect. It was specially designed by YOUR body to feed YOUR baby, just as that cow's milk you buy in a jug was perfectly designed for a calf. Breast milk contains all of the nutrition a growing baby needs, … [Read more...]
