A few weeks ago my son started begging to buy more football cards. Nothing new. I'd heard it a million times since he's become quite obsessed with collecting them. It wasn't until he wanted to drop a $20 bill on a box of cards that something in me snapped. I couldn't take it anymore and put an end to it by buying him and his sisters all piggy banks. YES! THESE ARE MY KIDS! I personally conceived each one. I carried each 8+ pound baby to full term. I was torn inside out to expel these beautiful little beings into the world. I've dealt with my share of disrespectful outbursts and pre-teen back-talk. I imagine there's plenty more to come given the fact that our son is only ten with two sassy daughters right behind him. Growing up in the house I did, disrespecting a parent resulted in some serious punishment. Cold and flu season is in full swing and while that usually means every moment of your day is a Bleachable Moment as you try to eliminate all the germs, there are some moments that just leave you gagging and wishing you had a magic wand to clean it all away. In the past 11 years of being a mom, I've had my fair share of messy moments. The kind that would leave me crying at the end of the day thinking it couldn't get any worse. I picked up my camera today, for the first time in awhile, just to snap photos of the kids. These days they seem to be growing so fast I can barely keep up with all of the changes, let alone find the time to blog about them. My son, who is now 9, is well ... a 9 year old.
