Christmas Wreath Cake Pops

Christmas-Wreath-Cake-Pop

When it comes to holiday decorating in our home, the Christmas wreath is the first decoration to go up and the last one to come down. It's that special little symbol that gives the warm fuzzy feeling to everyone that approaches our front door. And now I've found a way to bottle up that comforting symbol into the sweetness of a cake pop. The Christmas Wreath Cake Pop has been by far the most difficult one I've taken on. Using round nested … [Read more...]

Snowman & Snowball Winter Cake Pops

Snowman-Snowball-Pop

For weeks I've been begging and pleading for Old Man Winter to bring me some snow. When he finally did, it unfortunately came with awful gusts of wind that left us with little drifts of snow here and there that turned into the consistency of concrete. Not exactly the snowman building kind of snow I was looking for. Definitely not snowball friendly snow either. Fortunately, I found a way to have my snowman and snowball fun from the comfort of … [Read more...]

Christmas Present Cake Pops

This week I have the daunting task of wrapping Santa's gifts. While I don't like putting it off to the last minute, I admittedly was distracted with wrapping presents of a different sort. The presents I have been dealing with are wrapped in sweet candy melts, tied with fondant and come with a smooth cake filling surprise. A lot more fun that dealing with paper, tape and curling ribbon if you ask me. These Christmas Present Pops are shaped … [Read more...]

A Week of Christmas Themed Cake Pops

Christmas Present Cake Pops

Ever since I received the Wilton Pops! Sweets on a Stick book I've been knee deep in cake balls ... and squares, and triangles and various other shapes. My imagination ran wild with the decorating possibilities. So wild that I couldn't help myself this past weekend when I spent a few hours decorating cake pop after cake pop all for Christmas gifts to share with friends and neighbors this week. While I'm certainly no cake pop decorating queen, … [Read more...]

With the recent announcement of the Wilton Pops! publication, I couldn't help but be inspired to try some sweets on a stick myself, all focused on Christmas. For the next few days, I hope you'll be inspired to try some pops yourself. In most cases, these are really simple to make, make cute stocking stuffers or even gift tags. My first idea was to make some festive Santa Hat Cake Pops. To get started, you'll just need to start with the basic … [Read more...]

Homemade Peppermint Bark Treats from Wilton

peppermint bark snowflakes 1

Peppermint bark is one of my most favorite holiday treats because it's one of the easiest treats to make and everyone loves it. This season, Wilton created a peppermint bark kit that simplifies the process even more and allows you to gift it to friends and family in a unique way. The kit includes everything you need and even cuts out the process of crushing candy canes because inside the box you'll find peppermint candy melts. You can see all … [Read more...]

Wilton Holiday Gingerbread Memories

gingerbread cookie 1

Searching through my holiday cookie decorating memories, I can't think of a single one that involved gingerbread. That's pretty amazing considering gingerbread could be considered the official cookie of Christmas in most homes. In mine, it has always been sugar cookies but this year, we wanted to reach outside of our little decorating box and have a little gingerbread fun. Wilton, the ultimate brand for cookie cutter's (in my opinion) sent me … [Read more...]

Four Way Holiday Chocolate Fudge

If you were to ask my what my favorite holiday dessert is, I would say sugar cookies. But right after that it would be chocolate fudge! It’s a tradition in our family to have a fresh batch for Christmas, has been as long as I can remember. Once you make it yourself, you will never buy store bought fudge again. Often, it’s too hard and dried out. Fudge should be creamy and rich, emphasis on creamy. It wasn’t until a year ago that with … [Read more...]

Peppermint Bark Hearts & Oreo Bark Recipe

My list of goodies to bake recently increased. As I was browsing my usual blogs this morning I saw the cutest idea for peppermint bark. Over at Mommy's Kitchen, she shared a great way to spruce up ordinary peppermint bark, so I definitely can't take credit for this idea!  When I saw them, I just had to give it a try, and it made it even better than I already had all of the ingredients in my kitchen. Ingredients: 1 box of mini … [Read more...]
