While it’s probably easier to just buy Valentine’s Day candy from the grocery store, there’s something special (and quite fun) about making the candy yourself. You can blend your favorite flavors, fillings and make them into almost any shape your heart desires.
Like peanut butter cups? Mix your favorite brand of chocolate and peanut butter to create a one of kind candy like these.
The process is about as easy as it gets thanks to all of the different Wilton candy molds available. For Valentine’s Day, I loved the idea of making my own chocolate caramel hearts and peanut butter cups for the kids.
Just fill each mold (about 1/4 of the way) with your favorite melted chocolate. Chill it in the fridge for about 10 minutes to let the chocolate harden.
Then fill the center with your favorite filling. For me, that’s Ghirardelli caramel sauce in the hearts and for the kids, creamy peanut butter in the cups.
Just top them off with more chocolate, chill in the fridge and share with the ones you love.
