Bumbleride Indie Twin Stroller Review – 5 Step Assembly

stroller6Today I’d like to share with you part one of a multiple review series of the Bumbleride Indie Twin Stroller. Over the next two months you’re going to get a review on this stroller so in depth you’ll know more about it than the designers that built it!

So what is the Bumbleride Indie Twin Stroller?

This my friends is the royalty of all strollers for moms of multiples. With independently adjustable seating for two from infant to toddler, this stroller has you covered. You can go for a  Sunday stroll through the neighborhood, a light jog in the park, or hit up the rugged trails.

Mom Approved:

Step 1: The Grand Opening

I have to admit, the anticipation of opening this mighty box was almost more than I could handle. It took every bit of might not to tear it open like a kid on Christmas morning. This past Sunday was the big day…time to open it up and see what we were in for.

stroller2Step 2: No Nonsense Parts Placement

I was actually expecting a box full of parts galore. If you’ve ever put together a stroller before, you  know the pain of assembling one, a bolt here, snap this in there, it turns out to be a 2 hour job you regret starting. Fortunately, Bumbleride thought ahead and saved us moms (and dads) the trouble by having the stroller nearly 90% pre-assembled. After removing the stroller from the box and neatly organizing my parts, here is what I found.

Step 3: Tool-free Assembly

stroller3The one thing I despise when it comes to assembling anything is having to search the house for tools. With the Bumbleride Indie Twin, NO TOOLS were needed. In fact, putting the parts together took me a grand total of 5 minutes. The front tires quickly snapped in place. The rear axle and brake bar again just popped right in by inserted the bars and snapping. With each rear tire a tightening clamp is built right in, all I had to do was line up the frame forks with the tires and turn the clamps to tighten and secure each tire.

Step 4: Accessorizing

stroller4Finishing everything up was a breeze with individual canopies that snap into place The headrests and shoulder cushions just slide right over the harness straps without any re-threading needed. Each stroller comes with a handy water bottle holder that was easily secured to the right handlebar as well.

Step 5: Quick Click Fold and Store

For me, this was the most difficult part of the process. After rereading the instructions several times I finally found the correct buttons to unlock the frame after spending 5 minutes tugging on the wrong feature. Once I realized my mistake the stroller quickly and easily folded into a nice manageable size. I was actually surprised at just how compact the stroller becomes when folded for storage. It can easily be placed in a closet space or in the corner of a room without take up too much excess space. In case you want to see this in depth, Bumbleride has conveniently shared a short video on how to easily fold and store the twin stroller.

Mom Improvements:

My one complaint is that the folding mechanism is a bit tricky to master with a shorter arm span such as mine. Reaching both sides of the stroller to release the buttons proved slightly difficult. I would also like to see the unlocking buttons more identifiable.
