Our Bumbleride Flite Experience
I was first introduced to the Bumbleride brand of strollers when I reviewed the 2009 Indie Twin Stroller early last year. Since then, I’ve continued to enjoy the functionality and quality construction as my daughter’s have grown up. Now that both girls are expert walkers, we found the need to downsize to something smaller and lightweight.
Unlike most umbrella strollers you buy from your local retailer, the Bumbleride Flite does require just a little bit of assembly. Fortunately, the process is extremely easy and requires no tools. It’s just a matter of snapping the wheels into place and attaching the canopy and padding.
Once the stroller was set up and ready to go I decided to take a peek at all of the features before going on a test run with our daughter’s. I love that the Flite has a small storage basket in the bottom especially because most umbrella strollers do not have this feature, I only wish it was accessible from the rear of the stroller. You can easily store the included stroller rain cover and a few essentials like a folded blanket, travel wipes and small toys.
On the opposite side of the stroller is the same peek-a-boo window I first loved on the Indie Twin, only for 2010 it has been updated. Instead of the clear plastic, there is a new UV mesh in it’s place that offers better air flow and sun protection.
Overall, my experience with the Bumbleride Flite has been close to perfect. The only small issue we’ve run into is the bar between the handles pivots if you put too much pressure on the handles while pushing the stroller. After speaking with a Bumbleride insider, I found that this is part of the design to allow the stroller to easily fold up when not in use. While it can be a little annoying, it doesn’t pose a safety risk of the stroller collapsing while in use as there is a locking bar in the rear of the stroller and on the sides of the frame.
More than anything, I’ve really enjoyed the Flite because of it’s universal nature. Both of our daughters, ages 16 months and 3 years, both individually fit in the Flite comfortably. Should we decide to have another child in the future, we can also use the Flite from the day the baby is born until he/she is a toddler. The Bumbleride Flite includes a Infant Seat Adapter Bar which can be used with 7 different infant car seats, or you can purchase the Infant Carrycot if your infant carrier isn’t compatible with the stroller.

Cool! I really like the Spice color, so I would probably choose that one. It’s fun and spunky and reminds me of summertime. The feature that is most appealing to me is the reclining backrest. I know kids can get tired when they’re being strolled around, and it’s nice to be able to reline the seat for them to sleep more comfortably.

I would LOVE the Bumbleride Flite in Spice! I think is an awesome look and goes great for either a boy or girl! I am very excited about extended sun shade and the UV window to see him as I have an extremely fair 9 month old! I also love how it is so lightweight and can accommodate up to 50lbs!

The colors I would choose would have to go with current adult trends, especially keeping the men in mind. I want a stroller that my husband would feel comfortable pushing around, not so kid friendly but more adult friendly. I have found with our two strollers, I would not choose anything white or light. The more earth tones the better for our family.

I like Seagrass and the Quick release five point safety harness. I hate strollers that take an act of congress to latch the harness and another act of congress to get your little one out.
I want Lava. I like that it has a zip-off canopy portion for maximum sun coverage – nothing worse than an unhappy sweaty kid when you’re trying to enjoy a walk.
I would love this in Seagrass, and my favorite spec is that it only weighs 13 lbs!!!!!!!!!! I am having twins this fall and have a toddler, so I need to get a lightweight stroller for the toddler and a double for the twins. This would be perfect. Thanks!

Seagrass is my favorite. My favorite feature is a tossup between the weight of the stroller and the weight limit. I have a big boy and I want a stroller that is convenient and durable and he won’t outgrow early just because he big. For a small lightweight stroller, it has a great weight limit!

The Flite looks like a great stroller! While I love all of the bright colors, I would probably choose the lava since I would be using to travel home to see my family and the lava would be the least likely to show any dirt/scuffs that may occur while gate checking it!

i like the vita! it’s so pretty! but i also like the lava. i’m torn!! i like how lightweight it is, and also how compact it is. it’s perfect for everyday use or for those quick trips when you cant lug your fullsize stroller around!

I’ve been looking for a great compact stroller and this is one of the contenders. I think I like the Lava color, as it is less likely to show dirty fingerprints, spills, etc. The feature that I like the most is… well…. pretty much all of it! I love that it can hold a carseat or the carry cot, but is still so compact and lightweight. I also love that the seat reclines and footrest can come up so that when on the go a nap is still an option! It looks great!
If I could design my own color scheme, it would be brown and cream – a good neutral that goes with everything! Is a stroller not a fashion accessory too?
That orange color is speaking my language, as does the 13-pound frame! We’re moving to DC just before my first baby is due and we will need something durable but easy to lug down Metro steps. Thanks for the giveaway!

I am not picky on color. I love the neutral colors. I like the Lava, Seagrass and Ruby. Having to pick one of the colors I mentioned I would say the Lava. You can match ANYTHING with it, including car seats. I would have to say my favorite part about the stroller is that you can just about do everything with one hand. Now that makes everything A LOT easier. Facebook Bumbleride is the best for me.

Oooh! I have the Flyer in Seagrass, but I would love to add this to my daughter’s “fleet”! The most appealing feature is how lightweight and compact it is. I would use this as the stroller I send her to the babysitter with every day. My babysitter is an older lady with arthritis and should totally appreciate a more lightweight, less cumbersome stroller.

I have wanted to buy a Ruby Flite since I first heard about them a few months ago, before they even started shipping, but my husband won’t allow me to. We are a military family and travel a lot, in fact we are moving to another state for the second time this year in the fall. We have a Flyer, but it is too big to put in the car with everything else when we move. I would love to have a Flite as a travel stroller since it has all of the comforts we love and the ability to use a snack pack.

If I were to design a stroller color scheme, I would choose khaki–different shades of khaki. Mainly because it is a cool color, and basically it doesn’t show stains.

Love this stroller! I would choose Seagrass color (for the versatility, if we have another babe) if I was buying one myself. However, if I won the contest, I would definitely go with VITA. How much fun is that pink? It is so juicy and cute! This stroller is amazing. Spice is nice. I think it is really stylish, useable and the light weight feature seals the deal for me. I want!
I would pick vita. Our toddler daughter is disabled so I love that it will take a child up to 50 lbs. We currently use the queen bee (a gift from her wonderful grammies) but it would be so nice to have a smaller stroller for visits to the doctors and such.
Posted to blog 3 entries: I have been struggling with our Maxi Cosi Foray stroller and the thought of travel. It is fabu for in the city and in the garage but I had a hunch it was way too heavy and just looked it up- correct, a whopping 56 LBS!!! oy, no wonder I am struggling with loading and unloading it in the trunk. So I just saw this one and am in love. I am not a product whore but I would sleep with this stroller. It might even be a cheap date (free at this site!) Free is the only way we get stuff these days so my fingers are crossed it shows up in the mail before our big trip all over the country!! There is no way I can handle 56 lbs for 3 cities and a road trip….pleeeaaassse let me win!!

If I could design my own color scheme I’d do a khaki on the sun visor and shoulder straps, with a dark brown on the seat. That way it would still be gender neutral!

First I would like to say that I LOVE bumbleride. They are cool, stylish, modern and fun all at an affordable price. If I could have the Flite of my dreams (yes I dream about bumbleride stroller!) The color of my choosing would be spice. Nice gender neutral choice, for my boy now and other kiddo’s later. IF I had to choose only one feature….would it be the compactness, the lightweightness, or the superior bumbleride suspension? Not it would be that the Flite, this cool little umbrella stroller is compatible with the bumbleride carrycot…so it can be a cool Pram. LOVE IT. WANT IT. CAN’T purchase it right now or my hubby will suspend my credit card rights! Hoping that I win it.

I would pick the lava. I love that the foot rest is adjustable. I have found that is not always the case.
i would simply adore the vita! it’s super chic and girly (perfect for my 18 month old daughter) and it looks so comfy, i could just fall asleep in it! not to mention, it’s tiny enough to fit into the trunk of my volkswagen, yet it’s as durable as those expensive top of the line chunky strollers! plus, i’m not a very big girl, so i could do without the fifty pound hardware! all in all, i love this product!

I love the Bumbleride Flight in Seagrass. What a fun color! My favorite feature is definitely the “Lightweight, anodized aluminum frame construction” that allows it to carry 50 pounds but only weigh 13 while folding to 41.5L 10.5W 9H. I like the seagrass color. Colorful, but neutral enough for a boy or a girl. I also like the rain cover-that’s not always a feature you see on umbrella strollers.

My favorite color is the Seagrass, and I think the carrycot is awesome because it makes the stroller just as usable in infancy as it does for older ages.
Also, if I could choose any color scheme, I think I would choose beige and pink. I don’t know why, but I think they would look nice together.

I love the Bumbleride Flite in Spice…because it’s lightweight, small, not a full out bulky travel system, it comes in orange, it looks amazing for an umbrella type stoller! My favorite feature it is carseat adaptable. I’ve yet to purchase a stroller and am due this November with my first.

I would chose the Seagrass and I think the removable carrying strap is a handy feature for transport.
I love the Seagrass and Vita color. My favorite features is that its stylish, lightweight, able to recline and be used for infants, the included car seat adapter. New to this site and loving it! I really like the looks of the “Flite” Stroller in Spice. After having 2 girls and only seeing PINK I am really enjoying having a boy so other colors are optional! I would love to see it come in camo with the orange trim & seat to match my “Diaper Dude” bag! The reason I like the Flite is because I already have a good jogger but need something quick, light and easy for shopping trips and trips inside my daughter’s school.

I’d love LAVA…I think it would be great for public transportation like taking the train to the city because it is soo compact and light weight!
I love the Vita (already have Bumbleride Indie in Seagrass) and the feature I like best on the Flite is the recline. Most “umbrella” strollers don’t have a recline.
I would choose either the Spice or the Ruby color. and I love that it only weigh’s 13 lbs

I’d pick the stroller in Ruby. As for features, I like the infant car seat compatibility paired with the ultra-slim size when folded up. Most strollers that have the car seat compatibility are so bulky when folded up.
If I could design my own stroller color scheme, it would be royal purple with black and gray accents.
I would choose the Vita. My favorite features are the 5 point harness and the reclining seat. It looks like I would be able to use this for my daughter due in October without the car seat at all which would be great!

I love the colors, it is hard to narrow it down to just one so I would have to say I would choose either the Lava or the Vita. My favorite feature, again it is so hard to narrow it down but, the reverse seat is just awesome! I am pregnant with my second right now (they will be almost 6 years apart) and this is a must have with the second baby.
If I could design my own color scheme I would choose a light pink and brown and a light blue and brown. I love those colors together (they are so trendy right now for baby items) and I also like that it would be gender specific. My oldest daughter had a navy blue stroller and she was mistaken for a boy a lot, even though she was wearing all pink! It would been great to have a stroller that screams “It’s a girl” or “It’s a boy”.

Id LOVE the Spice color and one thing I’d like, especially for hot days we’d use the stroller MOST in the warmer months, is the mesh replacement panel for better ventilation. I know some strollers are so confined that kids get so hot and sweaty as “passengers”.

I really *really* dig the Spice colour. It’s actually my favourite shade of orange and contrasts with one of my favourite shades of blue!
Let’s see… I love that it reclines and has the footrest, I love that it’s adaptable for infants for the second baby or… third… I love that it fits with a good variety of car seats and oh yeah, it’s LIGHTWEIGHT. I love it!

I would probably go with Ruby so that it would work for my current baby (to be) and also any future babies. My favorite feature is the fact that it is so light. I’ve tested it in the store and it glides so incredibly easy, plus being so light, it would be great for in and out trips!

If I could have any color scheme and had girls, I would pick a bright orange (their spice color) and put it with a bright purple. Or even a lime green and bright purple.

Probably seagrass– it’s happy and gender-neutral, and I LOVE that it’s interchangeable with most baby carriers. makes my life easier! And I would probably love the “carrycot” from the optional accessories, I could really have used that during those first weeks!

The universe has PERFECT timing! My husband and I purchased a combo car seat/jogging stroller, due to our streets having no sidewalks, then a few months later I picked up a lightweight stroller from an area known as dollar store row. It was a great little buggy that had all the features of a full size, but without the bulk and weight (mother-in-law hinted strongly at an umbrella stroller, but Texas sun is unforgiving to redheads, plus kiddo wouldn’t have her beloved snack tray/foot rest). Sadly, the shade does not detach to follow the sun, but I found a Eddie Bauer clip-on stroller shade. Now for the woe. Little bit broke the shade in two spots in a burst of enthusiasm last month, then the stroller walked off from our driveway when my husband *forgot* to put it in the garage after we emptied my trunk to do some bulk grocery shopping.
Little one is only 12 months/20lbs, so she will be riding in style (if we win) for quite some time!
Color: Seagrass
Appealing feature: Car seat or carry cot option! It is a wonder that it has taken companies/designers so long to implement these simplistic yet amazingly innovative/time/space saving designs! Yes…yes 90% of it is due to modern fabrication, but there has always been some pretty sharp pencils around. Heck, the first pocket watch was written about in 1462!

My stroller color scheme would incorporate the best colors mother nature has to offer, while keeping in mind keeping kiddo cool/warm (breathable, all weather, and UVA/UVB protected) and mom headache free (stain/water resistant)
Light greens, tans/toupe, and browns would be my choice for the main body while the accents (side trim/well away from baby) would be in slightly darker shades to give it style.

I really like the choice of colors but would probably go with lava color. My favorite features include: versatile car seat compatibility and its unique shape folds ultra-slim to be easily stowed in the tightest of spaces. I am curious to know if the handles are adjustable for taller people? I truly can’t tell from your photos. Thanks for sharing.

I love the Bumbleride and would absolutely get the larger one if I could justify the cost. The Flite seems like the next best option. I love the recline, which some lightweight strollers don’t have, and the fact that it’s so light. I’d definitely get the seagrass. It looks great.

I went on Bumbleride’s website and had a hard time deciding between vita and ruby however I think I would go with ruby since it could work with either a girl or a boy. As for the features, I simply love how compact this stroller becomes when folded.

I would choose seagrass and the feature I like that the Bumbleride Flite is suitable for infancy and up and that it is 19 inches wide. I care about the width because there are some poles that are 19 1/2 inches apart on the way to walk my kids to school. The stroller would fit and would be perfect. Thanks for the chance.

The bumbleride flite looks very sleek. I actually liked many of its features. The best feature for our son was the multi-adjustable foot rest, and the best feature for me was how slim it packed for throwing it in the car. That’s our biggest problem now, we don’t have enough space in our hatchback for anything but a stroller. The color spice was beautiful.

I love three of the choices in color. The black, red, and black and red. I love how you can do EVERYTHING with one hand!!! 97% of the strollers these days you have to use both hands. Also I love how you can attach the car seat to it. That makes it quick and easy on not having to remove the child from their car seat and then put them in the stroller. That works wonders because if your child is asleep you are not going to want to wake them up. As my dad say let sleeping dogs lye. Another wonderful feature is that hit has a UV screen and it’s one of the lightest strollers! There are just SO many options to this stroller my list can go on and on!

I like the Flite in Vita color for a girl or Seagrass for a boy, although I think Seagrass color is a good color for either a boy or girl. There are many features I like about this stroller, but I would say my favorite is the multi-adjustable foot rest. It functions so much better than any stroller I’ve used and seen!

My own color scheme…nice! Because I live in sunny place I would want some cool colors. I would like something earthy and light. Maybe a deeper green with a light brown interior. Or maybe a nice deeper blue with a grey interior.

I just discovered this blog thanks to the bumbleride facebook page. This is great! Well, My wife and I have seen the Flite in person and we LOVE it!! We love how easy it is to fold. You can actually do it with one hand if you really need to. It’s so small and light. My wife had always thought she wanted a big stroller with all of the bells and whistles… this was 7 months ago before we actually had our son. Now, carrying around everything she needs for our little guy my wife complains about the big (heavy) stroller she HAD TO HAVE!! If we only knew then what we know now. The ruby Flite would be my choice. It’s beautiful!

I love the Seagrass, it reminds me of the coast. I love how it has all the benefits of a lightweight stroller but has suspension. I like knowing that if I hit a rock, the stroller won’t pitch forward and babe won’t go flying.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Bumbleride!! Our baby boy, Hudson will be 3 weeks tomorrow and we have the Bumbleride Indie and are in LOVE with it! The Flight would be such an amazing addition to our baby NEEDS! It’s light weight features and “take anywhere” ability is excellent! I love that it has the ability to attach a car seat! I’ve never seen a light weight stroller that has that feature! HOW CONVENIENT!! I can picture us now at Disneyland or Sea World pushing our sweet Hudson in a RUBY Bumbleride Flite!! It’s so much fun to have a little one and to make new memories every day!!!
I have a Bumbleride Queen B, which I LOVE. It is a bit cumbersome for quick trips though, which is why I would love to try the Flite – I love that it is lightweight and very portable. I am really into green, so I would pick Seagrass.

I have the Indie Twin in Spice, and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!! I’m having another baby in November, and this would be a perfect stroller for us to use for my 3 year old. Since it;s so light weight, and compact it would fit into our truck perfectly along side the big double stroller that my 16 month old, and newborn will be in! I love the Seagrass color! The most appealing “feature” for me is its portability. I have a Queen B, so I know how well-made Bumbleride products are, but it would be nice to have something that’s a little easier to throw in the car for a quick trip to the mall or something.

RUBY is my favorite color as it’s sporty and my alma mater colors from college. My favorite feature is the adaptable infant seat adapter bar/safety belt so that it serves in multiple capacities.
If I were to design my own color scheme, I’d go with a tan exterior with lime interior so that the lighter color reflects sun away and the scheme feels refreshing like a key lime pie!

Love the flite! I would choose the seagrass color. I think this color is unique, could go either way for boy or girl and it is fun color combo. The feature that is most appealing to be is it’s ability to convert. This stroller can be a bassinet with the carrycot, a travel system with the car seat adapter and the perfect lightweight easy to get around stroller. What else do you need?

If I could design my own color scheme for this stroller I would choose a silver or gray color with or without teal. I liked the lava color but living on the coast I didn’t like that the color would attract heat. Gray would be a nice neutral solution. Second runner up color: purple!

All of the colors are fantastic, but the Lava seems most practical by not appearing dirty so quickly like the light colors would. And black is just so chic. I like that the back reclines in different positions – hard to find in some of the lightweight strollers.

The new Flite in Seagrass would be the perfect addition to my Indie. I´d love to use my jam pack, carrycot and foot muff for shorter trips with the Flite.
Seagrass is a great color for girls and boys! The Flite is the only stroller you´d need for your infant and toddler if you life in the city!
I love the Seagrass color and I am most drawn to how compact the Flite is. I have a truck and It would be nice to be able to put a stroller in the cab instead in the bed! To avoid theft.
and I think if I would design a color scheme it would be orange and pink. I have always loved that color combo. It’s so cheery!

I really like Bumbleride Flite in Vita color!!
The most appealing feature to me is the stroller design. Bumbleride created a lightweight stroller without sacrificing functionality! (which for lightweight strollers is rare) Looks like it’s lightweight, comfortable for the baby and stylish for mom!

If I could choose my own color scheme, I’d love to be able to get a stroller in my college colors!
I particularly love that it’s compatible with so many carseats. Our bulky stroller that is part of our carseat’s “travel system” is so big and heavy. As for color…Ruby! I was torn between Ruby and Spice!
Whats not to like about this thing? It looks wonderful, small and compact, light weight. I hate the stroller I have now, it is so heavy and hardly fits in the trunk of my car, and for get trying to carry it anywhere. The flite has a handle!! I love it, if I had the money to get a new stroller I would definately purchase this, I love the seagrass color. I like all of them but green is my fav!!

This stroller is great! I would choose the Flite in ruby. My favorite features are that it is lightweight and that it is compatible with my carseat. This stroller would be a great one to use when taking walks with my little guy.
I like the reclining backrest. I would choose the ruby color.
I like the lava color and the feature that I love is that you can attach the baby seat into this lightweight stroller and be on your way. This is our first baby so knowing that we can have a lightweight stroller and still have the baby in his/her seat is great.

I love the Queen Bee in black. I love how the seat reverses so that you can see your baby OR having little one facing away from you. The air-filled tires must make for a smooth ride!

I LOVE the reclining seat of the Bumbleride Flite! I just had my second baby and I learned a lot the first time around! The flexibility of them laying down in the stroller is great. The Flite is such a step up from traditional umbrella strollers without the bulf of a heavy travel system. The colors are fresh and gender friendly! (I have two boys and get sick of the only options for them being traditional blue or black!) The Spice is such a great color combination.

If I could design my own color scheme, I am thinking pink paisley with brown accents. We’re expecting #2 now, and I am hoping hard for a GIRL! I guess the pink stroller would look pretty dumb for a BOY!!!!

I would chose the Ruby because it can be fitting for both a boy and a girl. My favorite feature is the fact that it reclines. I haven’t seen an umbrella stroller that reclines.

I like the spice (orange) color because its gender neutral. I love how these strollers are suitable for infants on up so that you don’t end up having to buy two separate strollers. Looks like it has plenty of storage space on the bottom too.

As much as I love the Lava, due to the heat here I would likely choose seagrass instead, I love the adjustable footrest since my son has long legs!

I would buy the stroller in spice. I love that it looks so comfortable but is lightweight and easy to fold. I’ve had my fill of clunky heavy strollers.

I like the Seagrass color. The thing that I like the most about this stroller is the easily adjustable foot rest. This is so necessary for a baby who wants to nap, so that their little feet aren’t dangling down, and their spine is straight while sleeping!

I would choose Lava for the color (although it was a real toss up between Lava and Seagrass).
My favorite feature, if I have to choose just one, is how slim and light it is, while still having TONS of luxury features likes a great canopy, adjustable footrest, recline etc… and it looks classy!

I like the Lava color. Favorite feature is that this stroller is compatible with 7 different infant car seats.
I’m in love with the spice colored Bumbleride Flite. I think its the blue/turquoise contrasting color that really makes it look cool. The smaller size and weight is my favorite feature–especially after looking at some really gigantic travel systems.

I would love to have the Seagrass grass as my preference and I really love the fact that it has a removable carrying strap as well as the cupholder. I know the cup holder sounds silly, but I always prefer taking the smaller stroller when shopping, but the typical umbrella stroller gives nothing for storing bags and snacks while shopping. This is a great treat!

I just love how lightweight this is & is functional too (storage spots). I always have to use my “big” stroller because I need the storage compartment` but it is too big sometimes & I’ve never been able to find a lightweight stroller that does the job of a bigger one.. I like I like I like! LOL, My fave color is lava!!
