We’re now down to less than two weeks before our kids head back to school. At the top of my to-do list is to prepare a lunch menu for my daughter. Her school offers a fairly decent menu with many healthy options. Unfortunately, it also includes several meals that she just does not like one bit. So I try to fill in the hot lunch gaps with lunchbox meals I know she’ll love.
Fortunately, we have KRAFT products at Dollar General just a few blocks away making it easy to get the food items I know she’ll eat without a hassle.
One of her favorite lunches includes the new LUNCHABLES UPLOADED Lunch Combinations. These come packed with everything kids love inluding a main dish like chicken soft tacos or a ham and cheese sub. There’s also a side like Pringles and Cheez-Its. And of course a small bottle of water with KOOL-AID singles.
I also like to pack lunches with sandwiches like a peanut butter and jelly or her favorite turkey and colby cheese with black olives. At Dollar General you’ll find great additions to a homemade sandwich like the PLANTERS nuts and PLANTERS snack mix.
In addition to lunch menus I find myself having to plan an after school snack menu too! Growing kids are crazy hungry all hours of the day.
Dollar General offers some great snack and weeknight meal recipes for kids. One I know they’ll love is the Frosty Strawberry Pops. These easy to make frozen treats are made with KOOL-AID Tropical Punch Flavor Sugar-Sweetened Soft Drink Mix and fresh strawberries. After a good crop of u-pick strawberries this past spring, we have plenty in the freezer for quick snacks like this.
