A few days ago I got this intense craving for someone cinnamon rolls. I didn’t have any canned ones hanging out the fridge and my husband was working so a trip to the store wasn’t an option. (kids were already in bed) So I started doing some searching online and found this video recipe of Paula Deen’s cinnamon rolls. They looked amazing! But uhh … they’re actually kinda dry and flavorless. I’ve also tried Pioneer Woman’s recipe and it’s about the same.
Then a blogging friend of mine pointed out her mom’s recipe for bread machine cinnamon rolls. The ingredient list was a bit different from the others with the addition of Jello pudding mix added in. How could that NOT be good?
Well … here they are, fresh out of the oven.
Then smothered in a maple cream cheese icing. <– to die for!
Each roll came out absolutely perfect. The outside has just enough crunch to it with sticky sweetness all over.
And the inside is so moist and soft with layers of brown sugar, butter and cinnamon swirled in there.
Even though I’m currently watching my calories, I indulged in one of these bad boys just to nix my craving. A few more went into the tummy’s of our family and the rest are heading to my husband’s office to feed the officers. If left unattended here I would be able to stop myself from eating more of them.
And they’re super cute all decorated for the holidays like I did with these “lucky little cinnamon rolls”.
