It’s summer, it’s hot, the kids are out of school and they are BORED. So what’s a mom to do? You could go to an amusement park, but we all know the price of those places can quickly add up to over $100 between the tickets, the parking and the food. Let us not forget the dreaded lines. So what do you do when you want to entertain the kids beyond a single day of expensive fun? You bring the amusement park to your backyard with a commercial bounce house!

Initially the price may seem a little beyond your reach but an inflatable bounce house is an investment that keeps on giving back with daily fun, year after year. We recently received the Rainforest Rapids Amusement Park from BounceHousesNow.com and let me tell you …. since the day this box arrived on our door step, I haven’t heard “I’m bored” a single time.

The first step begins by unpacking the amusement park on a soft surface, such as your grassy yard. This particular house comes with 4 sand bags and several stakes (similar to those used for tents) to keep it secure in your yard. Inflation is a snap thanks to the included blower which inflates the house in less than 2 minutes. The only thing not included is the extension cord you’ll likely need to power the blower.

You’ll also need a garden hose long enough to reach the side of the amusement park to attach to the sprinkler tubing system. Initially we had a problem with our tubing caused by a leak, which is why you see our hoses being used in the picture below. However, the tubing has since been replaced and works wonderfully.

You may have noticed this isn’t called a bounce house, or even a water park, that’s because this particular air filled outdoor toy is truly an amusement park. The fun begins with the main entrance which is a screened in bounce house area with an open top for lots of jumping space. This area is 8 ft by 8 ft wide with room for up to 3 bouncers. In the photo below, you can see my toddler daughter is holding the entrance open which is secured by Velcro strips from top to bottom keeping the little bouncers inside safe.

Just below the center bounce house is a small inflated slide that gives even the smallest of bouncers easy access to the bounce area. It’s also a great slide for small toddlers to use when enjoying the splash area.

Inside the bounce house area there’s two access points to the double water slides on the left and right. Each slide wall has two soft foot holds that even my 2 year old daughter was able to climb without any trouble. The fun begins when they climb to the top where kids can slide into the soft wall, air inflated splash area. Although not shown in the picture below, this area is filled with about 3 – 5 inches of water.

As a worry-wart type parent, my biggest concern with this amusement park was the safety of my children. Climbing up the slides put these kids at least 7 feet in the air. Falling from that height could cause serious injury to a small child. However, the Rainforest Rapids Amusement Park comes with safety nets above the water slides to prevent children from falling off the top. This feature really eased any fears I had as far as falls.

Now the thing that truly makes this an amusement park experience is that beyond the bounce house and the splash zone, it comes equipped with a double water slide, one on each side of the bounce house area. Each slide is fitted with clear, rubber tubing and sprinkler systems that produce just enough water to wet the slides for a slippery, good time but not so much water that it runs of up your water bill or becomes overly wasteful.

So what does the amusement park look like in action? You can see how fun this is just by looking at the expression on our kid’s faces.

What you NEED to know!

  • Sorry adults, this is not a toy for you. As much as we’d all like to be kids again, users are limited to 100lbs each, with a total weight capacity of 800 lbs.
  • Before buying, make sure you’ve got adequate yard space. This extra large amusement park requires 16′ W x 15′ L of yard space.
  • It’s year round fun! This amusement park can be used wet or dry so don’t feel like you can’t let the kids have some fun in the Spring and Fall during cooler temperatures.
  • Clear your schedule! Even though it only takes up to 2 minutes to inflate and 10 minutes to deflate, the kids will never want to stop playing.

  1. im seriously dying at the shot w/ the tube…ROFL

    • She’s quite the little ham isn’t she? Mattison is our “high energy” child, Kaydee is the “sassy, in your face” child and Emma …. she just goes with the flow. May your little guy be blessed with the latter personality. :)

  2. OH MY! You should totally let your local blogger friend (ME! ME!) borrow or rent that from you! What a total blast!! haha!!

  3. Wow this looks like a ton of fun. My backyard is way to small for this, but in the future if we ever have a bigger yard, it’s on my list. I may have more fun then the kids:)

  4. how fun looks like a BLAST lol

  5. Oh my goodness, those are GREAT photos!! I just want to jump into my computer with my kids and play around in that thing!! It is pouring rain right now and cold at our house. I envy the sun where you are!!!

  6. No wonder this is called an amusement park, it look so SO fun!

  7. That looks like a blast! We definitely have the space for that.

My parents have a small bounce house (around the $200 range) that we borrowed a couple of weeks ago but this would make the entertainment last a lot longer for sure!

  8. Now that looks AWESOME. I totally need one of those this summer to entertain my kids.

Looks like your kids are having a BLAST!!

  9. i really want a bounce house thingy. My kids need to burn off some of this energy

  10. That is awesome!! Our kids love our small bounce house (small compared to that!) I can only imagine how much fun this huge water one would be!

    • That’s amazing! Inflatable water/amusement parks like that are just about the perfect source of summertime thrills and relaxation. I can only imagine what it’s like for a kid to wake up and suddenly see their own water park in their backyard…

  11. WOW, looks like it takes up your entire yard, it looks like the size of my living room. Great shots of fun though!

    • It actually doesn’t, our backyard is pretty small compared to our neighbors. We’ve got the garden and tree to the left, the trampoline to the right and a swingset off to the far left plus a concrete patio with some yard space left over.

  12. This is so awesome!!

  13. That is so neat – I had no idea that they made inflatable water parks! I would have loved that when I was little!

  14. Your little girl in the tube – LOVE IT! I’m pretty sure I look like that floating in the pool, too :) What fun!!

  15. that thing is huge! It takes up your entire back yard – how fun!! I love that it is big enough for your son to play on. Some bounce houses are so small that bigger kids don’t really enjoy them. This looks like it would be a huge hit at a bday party too. Thanks for the awesome photos!

  16. Oh this looks AWESOME! I keep thinking I should look into one of these for my kiddos, but it scares me that they wouldn’t use it. They hate sprinklers because of the COLD water, but I think *I* would have a riot in this!! LOL

  17. That looks like a fun one! My kids love the ones with a water slide-especially in this heat!

  18. Gosh those things are cool! We measured our back yard, and the way it is shaped it wont fit. So bummed! But I cant imagine having that, and us adults not getting to play too LOL

  19. That looks like so much fun!! You have some lucky kids this summer!!

  20. What fun! That’s the type of structure we would have to visit someone or someplace to play on as it’s probably the size of my whole house :) Your kids are going to have the best summer ever!

  21. I want to come to your house :), this thing looks like so much fun!!! I bet your kids are going to have a fantastic summer playing with this bounce house.
