Back to School Organization with DYMO LabelManager {Giveaway}

For the past four years that my son has been attending school, I’ll admit, I’ve been less than organized when it comes to his before and after school needs. Since we introduced two little sisters to our schedule, it has gotten even more disorganized now that I have to count on my husband to take care of his before school routine that typically includes: packing lunch/snack and making sure homework is in the backpack.

To help get us on a better path of organization, we received a DYMO LabelManager. Believe me when I say this is not the typical label maker! There are features I never even knew existed for label makers and it’s beyond simple to use.

Quick look at Features

  • Large 30mm x 60mm screen displays two lines of label text
  • Customize labels and add emphasis by choosing from 3 fonts styles, 6 font sizes, one of the many styles, and one of 8 different box styles or underline
  • Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery
  • Enter text quickly using the familiar ABC-style keyboard

In my quest for a more organized school year, I started with the morning needs like packing lunches and snacks. With the hand held Dymo LabelManager I went straight to my pantry to label each of my son’s snacks for my husband.

dymo label manager

The  label prints right from the top of the device.

dymo labels printedAnd there’s no need for scissors because there’s a cutter built right into LabelManager. Should my kids ever get the hands on it, I don’t have to worry about any fingers being cut off because the cutter is built deep into the device and the slot is thin enough that even the smallest fingers of my toddler can’t fit in there.

dymo label cutter

After just one afternoon, I managed to label all of my son’s snacks for the week, which will help my husband in selecting a variety of fruits rather than the same one day after day.

I’ve also starting using the label maker in other ways like labeling my son’s school supplies. And with all the fun fonts and designs you can make I even let me son get creative and put some labels on his notebooks to create a little personal style.

Of course I’m not done labeling yet. While I’ve got a start on getting my son (and husband) more organized for school, I’m also doing a little labeling in the kitchen with my shelves and spices!

Buy It

The entire family of DYMO labeling products can be purchased in store at locations like Staples, Office Max and online retailers like Amazon.

  1. How much FUN! Yes, labeling looks fun to me. I’d love to label some of the things my kids have to take back and forth to preschool. And, I’d totally use it to label file folders and get blog stuff more organized. Oh, and I have to get used to doing all the finances and paperwork when my husband is deployed so this will help with that, too.

Since my daughter started preschool this would come in handy labeling everything. I could label her lunch and other supplies. I’d have a good time doing it too!

  5. Alicea Vitello says:

With 3 boys in school this year, the DYMO LabelManager 260 would be a valuable tool in helping Mommy not have to break up fights when one of the boys thinks that his brother(s) are using his crayons, notebooks, pencils, lunchbox, backpack, etc, etc, etc. LOL!

We are also in the process of moving to a new home (Yes, 1 week before school starts) and I plan to label the spice rack, the pantry shelves, etc.

I would use the Label Maker in my home office. My office is really small so reorganizing is needed. The label maker would help out greatly.

  27. colleen says:

What an awesome way to stay organized. It would be a great to the kids to know exactly where things need to go ( toys) instead of looking through the bin o figure it out causing a bigger mess in the process. I love the idea of labeling the snacks. It will be a big help with school supplies and getting things organized for school and home.

  28. Amanda says:

I use to borrow my now exbf labeler and so want one of my own. If I had one now I would label all my plastic totes and plastic tote type drawer units with what crafts and supplies are in each one. People joke when they come to where I live and see how I have things organized that “Amanda organizes her organizers IN organizers.” It is true. LOL

Wow! could this compact item save my life! I am a non-stop card maker…and when I want to look for things they somehow end up into the closest drawer, because I don’t look to see what goes into that drawer!

Do I need brads, buttons, ribbon, stickers, glue sticks, lettering, ink pads that are chalky, ink pads that are permanent, ink pads that are water proof? And, don’t get me started on paper types!

I would also use this to help my husband get ready for his hikes faster. I would label each container, so if he sees an empty container…he knows quickly what he is missing! That could save him a couple of hours a week!

And, of course we could label our hurricane preparation items in the closet. Everything would be easily found if everything was labeled!

The ideas for this in my house would be endless! I really appreciate the opportunity to win! This is very generous of you!

    Thank you so much!

That sure looks like a handy tool!!!! I have a 4 year old son who has been diagnosed with Autism and how can I even begin to tell you the magnitude of paperwork I have for him! Disability paperwork, OT paperwork, IEP paperwork, public school paperwork, private OT paperwork, county funding paperwork, diagnosis paperwork, community options teacher paperwork…. I think I can go on for two more pages. Anyway, holy moly would this come in handy for my filing system of all this paperwork! We have also needed to make many schedules for him for his daily routines and I can’t even tell you how helpful that would be!!!!! Oh my I can only imagine the possibilities!

  289. janet herbers says:

My kids are always forgetting to turn in papers to the office at school (like notes to teachers, lunch money, etc). It would be fun to place a label on the top of their hand to remind them to turn in the papers! If my child still forgets, I’m sure a classmate will notice the label. The child can remove the label after they’ve completed the “to do” item, then stick it on a colored index card or put it in a special little sticker book ….when they get the card full (moms can set the number of stickers needed based on child age), then they can bring it to mom for a small treat.

….don’t tell anyone, but I might just use the hand trick myself when I have something really important that I just can’t forget to do!
