Goodbye Christmas

c084

For our family, Christmas starts on December 1 and ends December 26. With all of the wonderful gifts, decorations and time with my family, also comes lots of stress. I try to get it out the door as quickly as possible the day after Christmas. That means, decorations, tree, lights, all of it gets boxed up and into the garage today. Maybe I'm Mrs. Scrooge but I'm not sad to see it go. … [Read more...]

Merry Christmas (Eve)!

davischristmas2008

Tonight was such a great family night, probably one of the best I've ever had. My parents joined us for a Christmas Eve dinner of potato soup and hot beef sandwiches that roasted in the crock pot all day long. We finished up the evening with baking oodles of cookies, sugar, chocolate chip, peanut butter, and the angel food cake roll. I also started a new family tradition for us with a gift for everyone of matching family pajamas. … [Read more...]

So I was reading on Baby Center about how my pregnancy is supposedly developing at this point. Yes, after 3 kids I still read those things. As you can see below, I already look like I'm carrying a full term baby. I compared my progression photos from my pregnancy with Kaydence to my current one with Emmaleigh … [Read more...]

Peppermint Bark Hearts & Oreo Bark Recipe

hearts2

My list of goodies to bake recently increased. As I was browsing my usual blogs this morning I saw the cutest idea for peppermint bark. Over at Mommy's Kitchen, she shared a great way to spruce up ordinary peppermint bark, so I definitely can't take credit for this idea!  When I saw them, I just had to give it a try, and it made it even better than I already had all of the ingredients in my kitchen. Ingredients: 1 box of mini … [Read more...]

Holiday Stress? I Cast You Aside!

stress

It's the holiday season, we're all stressed and have to-do lists 5 miles long right? Today, I say not me...I'm casting my stress aside. With a week of sick family members and body aches from the watermelon seed I swallowed, I've decided I won't let stress get to me. … [Read more...]

Thank you Daddy!

mydad

The last few days have been hard on me physically and emotionally. My body is becoming so drained from this pregnancy, I pretty much look crippled just trying to walk through the house. That's how bad my joints are aching right now. Hubby got nasty sick this weekend leaving the care of the household entirely on me which made things even worse and it became taxing emotionally. When we went on vacation my dad took care of the house...getting our … [Read more...]
