It seems like just yesterday I was trying my first soft baked pretzel (ever in life) from Auntie Anne’s. The reality is it was about 8 or so years ago when we were living St. Louis and my husband convinced me to try one during our stroll through the mall. Up until that point the only pretzel I’d ever known was the kind that came in a bag from the grocery store and tasted like crunchy cardboard.
It only took one visit to get me hooked on the pretzels at Auntie Anne’s and now visiting their little shop in our local mall has become a monthly tradition for me (and the kids). We all have our personal favorites and while we may not agree on the flavor, we do agree there’s no better place to get a soft pretzel than Auntie Anne’s. That’s why I was so excited when our family was asked to celebrate the 25 year anniversary of Auntie Anne’s pretzels. And boy did we celebrate!
After a quick trip to the mall we gathered in the kitchen to have a little party with nearly every pretzel variety Auntie Anne’s offers including the newest, Honey Whole Grain pretzels. They’re the same soft, hand-rolled pretzels you’ve come to know and love but made from whole grain dough with a daily serving of whole grains and six grams of fiber. A touch of honey gives them just enough sweetness to give them a well rounded flavor.

In addition to the original and new honey whole grain pretzels we also jazzed up our pretzel buffet with pepperoni pretzels and cinnamon sugar pretzels. The only thing that made these better were the variety of dipping sauces including cheddar cheese, marinara, caramel, sweet glaze and chocolate fudge.
And what’s a pretzel party without life-sized pretzel children? We put the kids to the test with a game of Twister and had them all twisted up in minutes. The game didn’t last quite as long when the kids took over the spinner and got me and the hubby all twisted up in two whole spins.
We had so much fun with our pretzel party and celebrating with Auntie Anne’s that we think you should get in on the fun too.
