Breakfast is that one meal you’re suppose to eat every single day to give your energy level a kick start. Unfortunately, around here it’s the meal that’s skipped most often. During the week days the kids are out of bed, dressed and racing for the bus stop before breakfast can hit the table. In the five minutes of time they do have for breakfast I usually toss them a granola bar, piece of fruit or a quick bowl of cereal.
There are quite a few cereals we cycle through every month and I’m looking for something new that isn’t packed with artificial dyes, over-sweetened marshmallows or candies. With all of the cereal options out there, the new Honey Bunches of Oats Greek Honey Crunch cereal is not the obvious choice. Looking at the box, it looks like a “grown-up” cereal. There are no bright color, silly shapes or characters to draw you in. That’s why I was so surprised when my daughter asked for a bowl of it.
Inside Every Box
- 33g of Whole Grain per serving
- 5g protein per serving
- 12 essential vitamins & minerals
- two unique granolas – flakes & clusters
- Greek yogurt
Despite the lack of “kid appeal” this is now one of the few cereals that everyone in our house loves. Our oldest, Matt, likes to pick out the Greek yogurt-granola clusters to eat while the rest of us just have it with a serving of milk. The cereal is sweet but not over-sweetened with a touch of honey that you can taste. The Greek Yogurt clusters stay crunchy while the granola flakes soften up quite a bit. What I like best is the fact that they didn’t skimp out on the Greek yogurt clusters, there’s a small or big one in just about every single bite.
